hey, just bought an ipod today and I am having trouble getting my system to recognize it.

when it goes to format it for the 1st time the installshield program keeps crashing.

anyone else have this problem?

i didnt...maybe try and DL the drivers from the net?:dunno:

thats what I am trying now, idk what else to do. come to think of it I think a teammate had the same problem......wheres my damn phone......

Well if installshield is crashing then mabe you don't have enough memory, and as for recongnizing it my friend had the same problem on my computer (his old comp was bad so he used mine) we just unplugged it and plugged it in repeatedly.

didn't have a problem.... good luck... my ipod is one of my three most prized posessions (the other two are my Speed, and my new Camry)

the update would be good if I had Win98, got XP Pro.

as for memory, shouldnt be a problem, hardly have anything on here. although its only got 512MB...........damn year old technology

I have 256 so I wouldn't be talking about "only" having 512 megs of it. As long as command and conquer games and IE run ok, 256 is good. I may buy a xbox 360 put a mod chip in it and run windows in place of buying a new computer.

No command and conquer, warcraft is like it, but generals and zero hour (the best in my mind), red alert, yuri's revenge, come on havent you ever played the EA C+C games, they rock.
