Alas... I have to work on Sunday. I complain loudly but I remember that the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan work 24/7. I'll get up and fix breakfast for my family before I go to work. But my hat's off to those who are in country doing the work of the Nation.

Well 40 some days and I will be back in the states and off of my 24/7 work hours. Iraq isn't as bad as people think it is, and when asked what I don't like about it are things I can't change anyway. There are 3 things I don't like about Iraq, I am thousands of miles from home (I can't change the geography of the world), It is hot, and it is dusty (both of those are Mother Nature's doing so I can't effect those). And about the heat thing, I can understand why people in this part of the world are so hostile, it is cause they hate where they live, and just take it out on one another, hahaha.
Good luck with the new job Al.

Yeah, but at least it's a dry 115F where you are. When I was in the gulf it was 110F and 130% humidity!

I remember painting the side of the island in those temperatures. Every break we'd run into the radar equipment room and cling to the ac vent.

I don't know how those guys worked out on the flight deck in those conditions.

It may be 115 now, but in July before I went home on R&R, it was a nice cool 130 in Tikrit, and 125 in Baghdad 2 days later.
