there seems to be a lot of questions re:cops sensors.i recive emails and ims daily about the proper setup of cop sensors.the proper way to set up a sensor is as follows.if you have removed the cops sensor or replacing the sensor you should first clean all the old debris and grease from under the sensor.then locate some xtreame love grease or dow 33.the xtreame grease is very sticky and has good shock absorbing properties but dow 33 will work.some people say silicone grease works good but when its exposed to any warm temps. it tends to melt.it will start to melt in the high seventy degree range.now your ready to reinstall, take a good dap of grease and put it on the frame where the cops sensor sets.push the sensor into the grease and let it ooze out.fill all the holes around the sensor, this includes the hole the pin for the exaust valve goes into.this helps in cases where the pin is loose and gives the sensor false signals.clean the hole where the cops rod goes thru and dry the cops rod.do not grease the cops rod.thats the road to a bad time.reassemble making sure to route the cops wire in the channel and cover the channel with a peice of scotch tape to help in reassembly.your on your way to a good day of play!

Good tip on for not trapping/crushing cops wires-Tape works ok but bluetack is less hassle and works even better.

Yeah thats it, you guys over the pond may have a different name for it, its blue sticky putty type stuff used for sticking posters up and stuff...
Its ideal for sealing the cops wire canal though..:)

I stripped and cleaned mine last night. My COPS rod was a mess... I had to run pipe-cleaners through the hole to get the old paint and goo out. Think that could have caused COPS to malfunction and let me chop?
I re-greased under the sensor and re-assembled it and was able to turn the SENS down to 4 from 7.
Hopefully this will cure my chopping problems. I'll find out for sure next week at Skyball.

I will do that. Will you be at a tech booth on the game floor or at the stand in the trade show? If I still have the problem, will you take a look at it?

I re-greased under the sensor and re-assembled it and was able to turn the SENS down to 4 from 7. wait a sec, you turned it DOWN from 4 to 7??? let me get this straight. my cops wasnt/isnt picking up on some balls because i thought the higher the sens number the higher the sensitivity??? please tell me im an idiot and thats why my cops isnt working at its full potential.
