View Full Version : Lighter air system
Over the weekend I noticed that my JD Fly w/ LP 68cu Crossfire tank was heavier than my buddy's Flied Dark IR3 (a real sweet marker) w/ 04MacDev 68cu Conquest (obviously(sp) mine is lighter w/o the tanks). So my question is..... Does anyone know of a lighter air system than the MacDev (in the 68cu category)?

JD uses those Guerilla Air tanks which they say are pretty light. Im sure if you emailed the Guerilla Air folks they could give you the exact weight.

Not insulting anyone's inteligence here however, most people associate feel of weight with actual weight. I have seen markers the same weight feel lighter or heavier than their counterpart even though on a scale they are the exact same weight. I have also seen marker heavier seem lighter than one that is actually lighter on the scale. 95% of weight comes from the overall balance of the marker with the tank and loader attached. More often than not a marker that used too much of a drop forward will seem heavier than a marker that does not have one. Tank placement plays the biggest part of the overall weight feel of a marker. Try tinkering around with your tank placement. Those old SP 1" drop forwards put on in reverse to push your tank back work wonders.
Thier placement is the same. I don't use a drop just the CP on/off. The Crossfire IS heavier than the MacDev.

I have both of the Guerrilla air Regs, they wiegh 121.22 Grams for the ambush, and 123.44 Grams for the assault, Lighter than even the hyperflow I had untill it started leaking, which was 130.90 Grams. I'm pretty sure that the hyperflow was the lightest reg out there, so that makes the guerrilla one the new lightest regs.
BTW, I've had no problems with them on any marker setup.
