Any one heard or now anything about this LPR, Could be a competitor for the Evolve.
:secrets:It's been discussed before. It doesn't really compete with Evolve since it completely replaces the WDP LPR, or at least that is what it looks like. It does look interesting though.

It is not designed to contend with the Evolve. It is designed to give Angel owners the best LPR ever made.
For the guy that wants the best of every possible component...this LPR will be a good option. I have been pushing Dan at STD for a long while to make this LPR for the Angel and I am waiting for it to be relased. I ahve heard the reports on the Beta testing and this reg lives up to its claims.

while it seems extremely interesting, it doesn't claim to allow the angel to run on a lower lpr, just a more consistent one, which, obviously, has its own advantages....I don't own an evovle so I have no bias, but my personal experience is that I have no problems with shootdown, fsdo or severe inconsistency w/my pup on a PE tank....the only prob I have w/my angel is the kick, which will soon be remedied w/an evovle.
BUT, i'm sure this new lpr has its advantages and prolly even makes the marker shoot better, after all a superfast recharge rate can only be better...yet it seems the evolve and std lpr are two diff. ups...can someone shed some light?

yet it seems the evolve and std lpr are two diff. ups...can someone shed some light? The Evolve LPR Cap does nothing improvement-wise for your existing stock LPR. It does not replace the stock LPR, it only makes it externally adjustable via the the adjusting screw on the front of the Evolve LPR Cap. As most know, to change the LPR pressure on your stock LPR, you have to remove the cap, add or remove shims. With the Evolve LPR Cap you simply turn a screw and remove nothing. It also allows you to check the LPR pressure using their gauge. It also adds a look of just like having a volumizer on the LPR side.
The STD LPR will replace the stock Angel LPR with the new STD LPR. And it is advertised to have a better recharge rate so they ar claiming that it a true improvement over the stock Angel LPR.

Another good thing about it is that it wont cost $140 like the Evolve does (or used to, not sure if thats still the price). STD is really good about keeping prices pretty reasonable.

if you have the evolve 2 can you put that std lpr in it and will it improve it?
or will it be completely pointless with the evolve?

i think you could have both.... dont see why you wouldnt be able to since as long as you just have the lite newton kit.
anyone know when the stf lpr is coming out? i know early summer.... but its been summer for almost a month now

I keep hearing that STD is the same company as the old AKA. And I think that this LPR and Evolve Lite will be the best performing Angel.

JTp8ntballer12, technically summer doesn't start until Tuesday.

yea, it will look pretty fugly tho( at least for me) i have a dust silver evolve and the big black piece that doenst even match the shape of the evolve wont even match the color...but still, performance is good

well if you go shopping over at DBN Paintball you can get one each of these. the bullet cap is either raw or black ano. im pretty sure if there is a demand for nickle they will make a batch or 2. the sleeve is for a SCM but i think it might fit the JDS..... but i would email STD and find out.

So can you tell what the psi setting is with the STD LPR when it's on the Angel?

The price is available but it won't allow you to add it to the cart. Looks like a pretty cool performance piece. Perhaps this is what the FF ERA mod was all about back in the day. It looks like this will be done right. Due to the Angel's design, I'd also imagine that this will be compatible with most versions (Speed-G7).
I'll be very curious to see actual performance results from owners once they receive it. Raw numbers from the manufacturer are good but look how "impressive" the Evolve figures were and look at all the frustration people have gone through.

well the evolve was something totally new, the new std thing has been tried on freestyles n such already and i have heard nothing but praises on it. its aloso like the scm for old matrixes, which were the best lprs back then, and hopefully now as well.

Well STD is not the old AKA..though the main design and service tech guys left AKA and started STD.
The JDS LPR is an amazing reg. Everymaker that folks try themn on they give RAVE reviews.
I have talked with a Beta tester for the JDS for the IR3 & LCD. He couldn'[t say enough about the consistency this reg gave his marker.
So I look forward to getting a JDS for my Fly. I believe I am first in line on this particular item.

Im curious to see how consistant they will be. My angel is already pretty consistant. Also the price on every other reg they have listed is 60 bucks so im gonna take a guess and say it will be around 60 bucks.

Got this from STD:
The reg itself will not have a place for a gauge. However, we may come out with a test block that you can put the gauge into to set the reg.

STD is the company which basically split with Dan Voils and someone else to form this company. He has been working with AKA markers, efficiency, consistancy, scm and sidewinder all his life. He knows his regs.
I have the lpr on my freestyle and wow does this do miracles. If you go to there website and look for videos they have tons of tests with the reg, they use the lpr in place of a hpr and shoot consistant numbers etc...this reg is amazing IMO and many others..I even talked with these 2 guys at Chicago open and there super nice people!

If you have a better consistency... you will have more accuracy? I knew that accouracy ----> barrel/paint
paintreliever
08-28-2005, 10:01 PM
yea, because the balls wont go flying all over the place because of the velocity jumping around
if it is more consistent then the balls will be pretty much on each other, not flying around all over the place
