Take a look at the pics here: http://www.angel-owners.com/showthread.php?t=42672&highlight=volt

Looks real easy to do with parts from Radio Shack.

...just a little FYI for those considering doing the PR mod to a stock HALO board (search for my other post w/pix)...

...you can use a 9-volt to run it :) ...the other day I was replacing the shells on my HALO and decided to try out the PR mod'ed board to kill some time and how well it works with a Force Fly and A4...

...the motor speed on a 9 volt is the same as when using the 6-AA power pack :)

... the 9 volt battery (Duracell) plugs right in to the HALO's power receptacle :)

...the only problem I ran into was the HALO powered off once w/F-Fly and once w/A4...possibly due to old and weak battery ;)

...the PR mod is faster than my V35 on setting #6, but have not done extensive reliability testing yet, need to get some 'Reballs" for the testing, paint is just too costly :)

but the pr mod will fry the motor

but the pr mod will fry the motor

..are you absolutely sure of that :notsure: have you experienced such an event :notsure:

..if you are just 'repeating' what someone else was 'repeating' in some other thread/forum..then at least include that clarification in your posts...

..some of my team-mates have intelli-fed their HALO's and run them off single or double 9volt batteries, mostly singles... the speed at which their HALO's 'spin' is certainly faster than any 'stock' HALO or V35 board I've seen, just as fast as the PR mod makes the cone spin. Granted, it only spins for .05sec per trigger pull, but off the break these markers can be putting out paint in a continuous stream until the hopper empties, basically non-stop. None of them have yet to need motor replacement to my knowledge....

Be very careful in this modication, I had two of my buddys fry their V35 board.. I tried this mod and caught my Halo hot ass hell from the battery area. At first the Halo was normal but after half a day use, I found out the battery was heated. I did install it correctly, if you look at the red and black wire, it splits and the wires become vice versa.. I just did the intellifeed options and used 1 nine volt battery and this has never gave me any problems

When it comes to motors for the Halo you can usually find someone on Ebay selling upped motors that are supposed to be able to handle the extra voltage given to it by jumping the resistor on the board with the PR mod. There was even a thread on here for a while that discussed what type of RC motor to get, but I can't seem to find it any where. Good luck.

i made a thread about the 9 volt mod, ill see if i can find it. i tell exactly how to do it in ther i think.

EDIT: i didnt tell how to do it in there but u need 3 9v plugs (buy them at radio shack) that are either hard (heavy duty) or soft (light duty) and either will work fine. u will need a soldering iron, solder and some heat shrink. if u sont know how to solder, dont even try it. maybe practice on something first.

here's one thta i made, i trimmed the wires quite a bit.

to make it, all u need to do is wire 2 blacks to 1 red and 2 reds to 1 black if u wire all the same colors to the same color, it simply wont work.

anytime you bypass a voltage regulator you have more of a chance of breaking something
you WILL fry the motor its just you dont know when

...anytime you EXCEED the designs capabilities, you will cause a failure...

..this is not to say that the PR mod or any other mod will or will not cause a failure, especially since the preponderance of reports have been positive as opposed to negative...

...the voltage regulators primary purpose it to prevent damage when the product is allowed to operate in a "continous" mode, but at a speed rate considered "optimal".

...in reality, the motor speed is actually steeped down by the board from what it actually can run at..in short burst or longer periods. short bursts is the norm for hopper operations. the hoppers paint capacity is the limiting factor, which probably comes out to about 30-45 seconds to empty in non-stop walking...

...there has been no reports of i-HALO motor burnout that I know of, and that mod perfroms essentially the same function as the PR mod, allow the HALO motor to spin at unregulated speed as power is direct from the power source, no hopper board is used in intellifed operations....granted, based on signals transmitted by trigger pulls...

...this is not meant to disparage your opinion, but rather to discuss a subject intelligently with enlightenment and understanding shared...
