Eye ribbon question

The ribbon on my 2004 Speed does not sit flush to the body. How can I make it sit flush without damaging the internal ribbon and eye?

Are you talking about the plastic eye/ribbon covers? Or the ribbon wire itself?

If you are talking about the plastic cover, then I'd be curious as well...as mine does not sit flush either... Is this even a concern to address, or do we just live with it?

It makes me uncomfortable because paint can get in there and cause possible damage to the eyes or ribbon itself.

it's not going to set perfectly flush. but it shouldn't be a problem with paint...if a lil gets gets in there jus open it off and wipe it off...unless it's sticking out real bad. then you might have a small problem.
