:wall: another one bites the dust! what the hell?

my feed neck broke loose the first time i tried to take my halo off the gun, it was so tight that i was actually unscrewing the feedneck. since then,i have always had to take it off and reapply blue loctite and go clockwise when mounting or unmounting it from the gun otherwise it be unscrewing the feed neck. well today it finally gave way and stripped off...there are no threads that bite...i was trying to jb weld it

whenever a new angel owner asks about ups i will from now on recomend a new feedneck!

talk to one of the mt's. they have ways to repair that sort of thing. or you might want to get new feedneck and talk to somone who can use an aluminum welder and have that sucker set in place...that is if you can weld that thin of a material.

If you are going through that much trouble to get your hopper on and off I would suggest using red locktite and sanding your feedneck on your hopper so it fits easier. Are the trheads for the seedneck stripped in the body or the feedneck? If just the feedneck get a new one and use red locktite next time. If they are stripped in the body you'll need to send it to an mt to fix.

my gun had a CIP ripped out of it so i had it rethreaded and got a new neck. then it happened AGAIN!!!

i just epoxied the second CIP neck on permanently. it was the best move i've ever made with my speed. now i know its rock solid and can play hard without fearing that my neck will just break off randomly...

Well here knowledge is power and a little more information is a good think. Use red if this is a big problem. Are we talking about a stock feedneck? If so you have tried smaller diameter o-rings that come with the speed? Have you tried adding a dab of oil to the o-rings to make it easier to remove your hopper?

naw my speed came with the g7 insert but i was coating it with oil...here is the plan though:
1)send gun to fix my angel to retap the body
2)http://www.fireballmountain.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/CamWebFullSize.jpg anno matched to my feedneck
this way theres no need to twist the threads of the feedneck to put on or take the hopper off

Your speed should have also come with conventional o-rings as well.
