View Full Version : Firing Issue & Leak...

Ok,

My 05 speed has been working flawlessly for about the last six weeks...

I posted a couple days ago about how my grip and trigger frame was coming loose when ! would twist my air tank off and the end of play...and was told to loctite it on.

I did that today and went out to play (it stayed tight) but my gun was not firing properly. Here are the things I did...if anyone has any suggestions about what it might be please let me know...

1. I put a new battery in (that would not mess with my settings would it?).

2. I had to take the trigger and grip frame bolts out to loctite them and was wondering if that may have pulled the eye connection loose...there is just one connection right?

3. I noticed a small air leak sound coming out the little hole where the mini-reg grip handle meets the marker. Could a small leak keep me from firing? How can I take that mini reg handle off to check the seal (as removing the one obvious screw did not seem to do the trick)?

Thanks!

Rob

Check and make sure all your coonnectors are properly connected. For the leak you will need a long allen wrench, 4mm if I remember correctly. You'll need to remove the foregrip cap also a 4mm. Then use your breech rod to screw into the bottom of the mini reg to pull the mini reg out. Once the mini reg is out then insert the long 4mm and remove the screw inside the foregrip. then the whole assembly should come free. You might want to glance over the manual because all of this is in the manual.

The end cap on the front or the minireg cap? The breech rod is used to remove the mini reg. the bottom of the mini reg body has 2 threaded holes. Thread the breeck rod into one of the holes and pull out the mini reg.

I almost forgot, well actually I did until now, remove the velocity screw in the mini reg being careful not to lose the ball bearing inside. Also remove the set screw holding the minireg in place, it's like a 2mm allen wrench to remove that.

Thanks El Pirata!

El Pirata,

I have to fix the leak so I still need to get the end cap off but...

It is interesting...it seems like my gun not firing properly is like the eyes not working properly even though they are completely clean and have had no breaks and are connected well.

The other funny thing is that when I hold the trigger down (like I would to turn the eyes off) nothing happens (they don't turn off).

Just some more clues that may help clue us in to what my problem is.

Thanks!

Crap, I didn't know there was one. I took mine apart (it's used) and it didn't have one...

ps: upon checking in the 05 speed manual, there was no ball bearing that goes in front of the velocity screw

The manual shows it coming out through the top of the mini reg but I assure you it can come out throught the velocity adjustment screw hole.

I couldn't get the regulator housing off so i never got the whole reg out. I'll bet that's you right though El pirata, you're much more experienced with the angels than i am.

One note : The manual is usually pretty good, but they don't tell you to use the breech rod to pull the mini-reg out. All it says is something like 'carefully remove the mini-reg'...

 why didn't i see this thread before i took my mini reg apart. i used circlip plier to remove it.

El.. you seem to answer all the questions. there should be an ask El thread.
