What kind of marker are you talking about, that'll help a lot more?

really. if you want speed, get an electronic marker. there's really no point to trying to squeeze 1 or 2 more bps out of your mech gun when you can get an electronic gun and easily jump 5 or more.
also, another thing i've learned is that upgrading a lesser gun for speed really isn't worth it. buy a gun that is meant for the speed you're looking for. i'd suggest for you to get an Ion. as much as it pains me to endorse Smart Parts (grrr, i hate them), they have created a decent mid-level marker. you can go from the 5-7 bps you have now to 12-15 easily.

anyone know of ways to get more speed out of a mech. cocker, without getting an e-2 or something? i can squeeze out like 10-12 now, but i would like above that, any ideas, maybe timing?

also the little electronic pirahna guns are decently fast. And the price tag isnt so awful either. Ive shot a couple before from a couple kids at the local field. They arent bad guns whatsoever. All they really need is a barrel and they are good to go.

There is a gun caled the Rat at one of my shops I go to after school.. Thing is faster than the ion and shoots 20bps.. It rips..

i agree, i have used the ion at my local field a little and its a very decent gun. and as much as it pains me as well to endorse smartparts, they are a much more reliable and high quality company than pmi piranha and cockers in general.

the only problem ive had with my cocker is the detents, other than that, its good. im just trying to get like 2-3 more bps, maybe with a hinge trigger, i have the stock really small trigger now and thats killing me, thinking maybe an orracle trigger with and adjustable pull maybe?? and about the ion, i've heard a lot of complaints about them. i mean when they work, they just rip! but ive heard of them leaking outta the box and have seen a few at my field that just quit firing. solenoids go bad, or things just get jammed, and this is like right outta the box. i wanted one for a while till (1) i got my cocker, and (2) the first reports on the ions were coming in.

well, that's kinda the risk you take when you use an SP gun... the can rip or take a poo on you...

What ive noticed with SP guns(only shop in a 30 minute drive is all about SP) They rip for a week or so, then you get problems like mad. They sell more Ions then anything else, but fix more shockers than anything else... I dont get that one :) So, id say out of all the SP guns the Ion is the best one. After all, i think you can put a shocker board in an Ion, and it will go just as fast as a shocker.
