When the WDP softface bolt came out, what was the reason why everyone bought one??? And why did WDP put it in stock from the A4 marker on???

I think I remember it being for rollback sensi/cops chopping reasons or something. So my next question...with WDP going to the EyeQ system and many of the older Angel's getting converted...is the softface bolt technology of the past???

I see Cobra Paintball has come out with a new and improved version of their bolt, NDZ has their new EQ bolt, and now all the rave about the expensive DEZign bolt. What each of these have in common is that they all flow better than the softface bolt, and none incorporate the softface feature...

I remember reading a test somewhere of the Cobra V2.0 bolt having better flow rates but the DEZign bolt being more consistent or something. Don't know much about the NDZ EQ bolt...but all look pretty interesting.

What have been some of your guys' experience thus far??? I am messing around with my markers to reduce the kick, by hopefully lowering the operating pressure...but without using the troublesome Newton Evolve kit.

Well I won't comment on either the Cobra or DEZigns bolt I will say that they're both extremely high quality. As for their overall effectiveness, reports have been generated stating that they do improve performance by allowing you to lower the inline pressure on the marker.

Worth the added expense? Depends... I personally think that a properly setup (completely stock) '05 Speed performs just fine. I've received excellent efficiency, accuracy and above all reliability out of my '05 Speed. I personally think that despite how amazing the G7 performs that the '05 Speed is still WDP's finest creation, simply because of the price.

Some people can't settle for stock, though. Sometimes people want to "trick out" and replace components in a marker. Whether or not the component needs replacement or not, although sometimes an aftermarket component can actually serve a purpose (increase in performance).

In conclusion, no you do not need to replace your stock bolt. A properly setup '05 Speed will perform extremely well for you with no modifications necessary. However if you've got $35-$60 burning a hole in your pocket and want to grab an aftermarket bolt then there are certainly many options now available to you.

increase efficiency? dude, i have an LPR set a hair above 55, large volumizer, and 400 psi running from my tank into the gun.

i get 500 shots from 1000 psi. on a 68 ci tank. do the math, that is one case for a 68ci 4500 psi fill.

amazing.
