i have a tiny tiny tiny leak in my tank (it's lost like 1000 psi in 2 days), and while it's not a big deal, it kinda bothers me. A friend of mine suggested putting a drop of oil in the fill nipple. obviously i'd have to then put some air in it, and fire some shots through it. Would this work? could having some oil residue in the bottle part cause harm to it? are there any possible bad effects? and is there any chance that this could even work? any input would be appreciated.

OMFG - NEVER EVER put oil into your HPA tank. It can become explosive under high pressure.

Find out where the leak is coming from, leaky fill nipple, fill nipple threads, bottle/reg threads, etc... Once the leak have been located then remove all the air in the tank and replace the leaky part or seal where the leak is coming from.

what's the best way to figure out where the leak is coming from? process of elimination, like take a part off, and put it back on and see if it still leaks?

Make a small solution of water and dish washing liquid and put it on the reg (but not in the fill nipple). It will make bubbles were the leak is.

I recently had to replace my gauge on my Crossfire tank because it started to leak. The soapy thing worked great.

Apply the soap with either a spray bottle or a paint brush to apply the soapy water. Trigga failed to mention, when you get to the leak you will know it unfailingly by the amount of bubbles it produces.

Or just fill the sink up with water and put your reg part in there. It'll become clear where your leak is real quick.

soapy water does the same thing with leaky tires. when you compress air it drops the certain flash point of materials, like oil. flash point - temp/point of pressure at which the material combusts
