even tho the NPPL had nothing to do with this.....it is by far the coolest thing so far.......
Seems like the raven one is less choppy, maybe it's just my connection. Either way, these live cams are damn skippy! Thanks warped

yeah the Raven field is better quality, and it actually stays on the field

leave it.......it's a good reminder of what the NPPL did, and what PSP has to do in order to put on their show and attract new/more players. It will be interesting to see how well they do after the NPPL set such a high bar.

Ok, thats fine. I just thought since it was over, it wouldn't be needed. But, I will leave it.

The Live Webcams weren't done by the NPPL. Those were run by the City of Huntington Beach for the surfing. But they just turned them to the fields for this event.
So I doubt it'll happen again...

they might....i mean they had cameras on the field...so they might just have live broadcast....u just never know...but so far, the NPPL is winning over the PSP...of course the PSP was shafted with rain...

the cameras at the event were ESPN, the webcams were simply surfing cams, the rest of that site had a bynch of cams to some really nice beaches all over the world

I talked to some guys that played HB and they said ESPN was there filming. To me that would mean the ESPN is attempting to put together something of ESPN quality. What they do with the footage is still unknown at this time. However you will only see ESPN at NPPL events and not PSP events (yes politics are the reason). Let's just hope that ESPN is able to do something very classy with the footage they took, and package it well for all of us

bringing this back up in anticipation of this year
I did a search for it a couple of days ago as I am eagerly anticipating this...I can't wait. Only problem is that since I'll be there playing I won't be able to view the web broadcast....but then again I guess that's a small price to pay....
I tried the link when I searched this recently however and it didn't seem to be working correctly at the time, maybe it was just me or my machine and not that it's down.

I spent a couple of hours looking the other day. I found one site that said they had cams, but the cams weren't working. They did have a bunch of pics tho (none happened to be of last years event tho)
I'll post some pics up here when I go down on the 15th, if they have any setup at that time.
