Hello,
I am pretty new to field play, but the youth group i played paintball with lost land when the owner decided to develope it. I was woundering what things i would need. I am thinking of a HP tank, and am looking for a reccomendation on the hopper. Also i noticed with the regulator that it just straight down. Does this mean the tank would also be on the pointing down?. If So, what do i need to get the tank to go under my arm. Also i would like other upgrades you guys would recommend me getting. thanks.

alright it seems your a bit lost... so ill give ya the basic setup

you will need an asa.. which you probably have... and a dropforward if thats wat you prefer ... link to an example : http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=QBm1BaD0cQm15uJjbGB1rao9CCoxhQ9bMWw=?Pro ductID=W_jAqArbb24AAAEDBgDO1UdG

you will also want an Low Pressure.. LP tank not an HP tank for the Angel Speed05 and size wise.. 68ci or cu.. 4500psi is basicly normal size

you will need a hopper.. id look into a Halo.. but from what i am gathering from your thread, all you will need is VL revvy, which is cheaper and easier to work with... link: http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=_kype1WO1FmoqhcZ0y5p018owH_2c7g1CHE=?Pro ductID=7VqsFAY7u58AAAD3G0ClA_2t

and then your basicly set.. further upgrades would be a better barrel or barrel kit

In the box that the speed comes with there will be a piece of macro-line, you use this to connect you reg to your air supply adaptor or more commonly called an ASA. Look here for an example.
http://secure.fixmyangel.com/modules.php?name=catalog&file=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=393&osCsid=610c1de047777b05c126281ed4eae233
This example of an ASA mounts on a rail that is screwed into the bottom of your grip frame. The ASA and tank can then slide back and forth until you find a comfortable position; you then tighten a screw on the ASA to stop movement on the rail.
As for hoppers, you will get numerous answers as we all have various preferences ourselves. A Halo, Reloader B, or Egg with upgraded board would be your best bet.
The best tank for you would be a LP carbon wrapped tank such as:
http://secure.fixmyangel.com/catalog-product332
After that I would recommend you get some sort of cover to protect your tank.
OK I think I answered everything you were asking. Before you go spend the kind of money you are looking at spending ask yourself how often you are going to play? What kind of paintball do you want to play? And do you really need all this? If you are going to be a woods ball guy or a once in a great while rec player, you might be getting in a little deep. Although I would love to see another Angel user join our fold, it seems like you need to spend some more time researching and understanding markers and the game you are looking at getting into. If not and you are dead-set, then welcome aboard and I will see you on the field.

I am a noob yes, but i want to get into rec, and already have friends that have made the jump, pictures are very decieving. I am willing to go this route because thaere arnt many place i can play woodsball anymore. Just learning things is the first part, im still a month off, but i just have been browsing forums and such trying to find info

This is important. Don't let it confuse you, though. I think by 'HP' your talking about compressed air / nitrogen instead of CO2. You're exactly right about that.

But, what you need to know is that every nitrogen tank comes with a regulator on the end of it. When people here talk about HP or LP, they are referring to the output pressure of the tank regulator. HP = 800psi and LP = 400-450psi.

An Angel Speed needs a low pressure output tank. Make sure of this when you buy the tank. If the description doesn't specify the output, assume it's high pressure and keep looking...

As a final note, never ever even think about running this gun on CO2! It's just not an option. Good luck and keep asking questions - we all had to learn this stuff at some point.

Duncan, don't take this wrong but I really think you ought to reconsider which marker to buy. If you are just starting in the sport you might be better off with a Tippmann Model 98 or A-5. They are extremely user friendly, reliable, and durable. They come with everything you need to play mask, hopper, CO2 tank, marker, parts, manual, etc... Best off they are inexpensive to buy. Their resale is not the best in terms of price but in terms of a market, most fields use M-98's as their rentals which says leaps and bounds for their durability and reliability.

Duncan you can also try to get an auto mag. When i started paintballing i was doing the same thing as you untill my cousin persuaded me to get something less expensive. So i got an 68 classic which is and exellent gun and then i worked my way up as i started to play more until i got an angel.

Duncan, any angel is by far the best gun in the whole pball community. Im not saying this bcuz i own one, its just simply tru. it has the best warantee, the customer service is great. The gun shoots amazingly fast stock. Once u buy it u pretty much dont need to buy anything at all except maybe a LPR and a new feed. But if u are looking for a first gun for speedball. id reccomend:

68/45 or 45/45 LP tank(so u dont have to change it when u buy an angel later on)

Empire Reloader B(so u dont have to change it when u buy an angel)

A good thermal goggle system such as(profilers or proflex 05)

And either a BKO or Impulse(if u would like one, i have one for sale thats only been used once, PM me for dertails) these guns are great starter guns. Later on u will be happy that u did this instead of buying an angel right away. O and it would really help if u knew most of the parts of ur gun so u can know how to fix some minor problems.

Ok, I have an a-5 w/flatline and have gotten to the point that i want a light more mobile marker. I have a buyer saying he will give me 300 if i include my 2 20oz tanks, so i agreed. The reason i am decideing to make the jump is because i am going off to college in 2 years and need to start saving over next year so i dont have to upgrade much. I have made multiple mistakes, Like buying a Rebel Extreme (lol) this thing would break everytime i went out so i dumped it.

Thanks for your help and concerns but i plan on getting this gun, and if i have any questions i will stop by and ask some.

When it says 45 or 90 degree frame, what is the differnce

darthmom

well the trigger is either slanted at 45 degrees, or its straight at 90 degree.

this is a 45. frame:http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=EMycHuONCTmcCaEVtntctulEGL34RHiPfl8=?Pro ductID=qVzAqArbf_sAAAEBJnTeIgF9

This is a 90 frame.: http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=EMycHuONCTmcCaEVtntctulEGL34RHiPfl8=?Pro ductID=aaLAqArb7kEAAAEBTXTeIgF9

I personally reccomend a 90 frame if u are a front player becuz it allows tight play. but if ur playing back the 45 frame will give u a more comfortable feel.

I just got my 05 SPEED today and I love it. I got it in the 90 frame and its awesome. But you should feel both first than make your decision.

definatly go to a local store and feel both of them. if your store doesnt have them and you happen to see one at a tournament just ask the owner if you can hold it and maybe he will let you rip a hopper off. ive let people have some fun with my 05. i prefer the 90. thats the main reason im sticking with WDP.... its just so comfortable!

The 05 is really easy to clean, efficient, and fast. Its a great gun just know what your getting yourself into. Don't get it if you are going to let it sit in the closet for a month or 2. The gun is meant to breathe. Make sure you follow and understand the directions completly!!!!!! I can't stress that enough. Remember WDP is from England so the allen wrenches you get need to be metric.
