Hey guys...In the event of trying to compensate for a lack of a chrono, is the input pressure a good indication that your marker is at least within legal chrono limitations?

Not really. My input into my marker is around 250 psi and i chrono at 300 and above

Sadly there are too many variables. Even if you could match say, 220psi to 300fps on one gun, factors such as dwell and lpr pressure, not to mention bore sizes all effect the velocity.

Can be different for every marker. While always recommended to have a chrono around if you find yourself with out one then set up your marker with the same pressure you have consistently used before, then turn it down a little bit to make sure. I use an A.I.R. on all of my Angels and have it written down on a slip in my tool kit about how my marker performs and what settings I use including what input pressure gives me 280 fps and 300 fps. Note that if you change anything, such as dwell, lpr pressure, velocity grub screw position, etc, it's going to change the pressure required to shoot your marker within the legal limits. I do not use these values before taking the field, I use them for comparison while at home in the garage tuning and cleaning.
Get yourself one of the small yellow hand-held chronos...they are worth every penny. No sense not having a marker withing legal limits and causing an injury.
