New owner here and sadly due to weather I havent been able to play yet. But I aired up the marker and wanted to shoot around some, but I got this little problem.

The old owner of the marker used his tank set at 450psi, my bottle is at 800psi. Im wondering if I need to switch any of the shims or anything to get it to shoot right. Right now when I dry fire It shoots once and then makes this pressurizing like noise. Only thing I can figure is somethings up since I use a higher pressure tank.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

lots of people have problems with HP tanks on their speed (myself included). see if you can borrow a lp tank from someone and see if you have the same problems. i would definitely say to get yourself an LP tank as soon as possible, so you can use your marker. in the meantime you can try the minireg mod where you change the shim stack in the minireg. good luck

Cool I will definatly try out that mod. Im assuming the intructions are in a thread round here somewhere eh. I know the gun works with a LP tank, just bugging up with mine. Ahh the joys of learning a new marker.

speeds are not meant to run HPA, they were made for LP tanks, you can either get a new tank, or do the minireg mod as welted said, and the only way you will be able to tell ur lpr pressure is with an angel tool kit

Try here for the 'shims' mod - http://www.angel-owners.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=22325

Dont do any mod yet. See if it Chronos under 300fps first, if it doesnt, then do the mod.

Well seems the tank wasnt the problem. I dry fired with a LP tank on and its doing the same thing. It will fire, then theres like this delay for the bolt to slide back. I tried putting some love juice through the reg and down on the ram but its still doing it.

Wondering if somethings busted on it, but I havent done a thing to it since the weekend when it ran fine.

Wierd...you sure you haven't done anything? That sounds like the classic sol plug in hop socket trick. Or maybe your ram is so greased up it's sticking - or maybe it's an o-ring problem on the shaft. Only way to be sure is to take out the ram and strip it. It could even be a simple case of shell under the hammer.

or your LPR could be providing inconsistent pressure to the noid, causing jerky bolt/hammer/ram motion.

Sounds good guys. Ill disassemble tonight and see how it goes. Could anyone tell me a suitable grease to use aside from the lovejuice grease?

Getting a little frustrated and I think im going to have a talk with the person I bought it from. Cant even get at the ram assembly to check if the problem is there, because the screws in the back are stripped.

Gonna go fish around for a 2.5m screw so I can take out the piston on the LPR, have a look there.

i'd suggest sending it to an MT for some much need love and care. it's only $50 and they'll get you up and running again...

bwaahaaahaa. Fixed. Plug on the board was inserted into the hopper intellifeed thingy instead of the solenoid connector. Explains why I wasnt getting a return stroke on a trigger pull.

Guy was real good about it, he appologized for plugging it in the wrong place and is gonna get me some new screws for the backing plate.

Thanks for all the help gang, excellent first impression of the board!
