Hey guys I just decided to get back into paintball after not playing for like a year and so I'm now savin up for a mamba IR3. I am not sure which air tank is the best? I just want something with no shootdown but dont wanna pay so much for angel AIR. Maybe a Maxflo or centerflag??? I would buy a preset if there is a good one for the IR3 since they are like 200 cheaper, but let me know which is the best preset wise and adjustable......thanks for your help.

Well I have a Pure Energy 68/4500 on my ir3. Works great.

well, it does depend on how fat you shoot, if you shoot around 10-12 bps, any preset should be fine, if you get very high rates of fire, I would suggest a high end adjustable, Maxflos are decent, also I have heard great things about the Mac Dev Conquest, I believe they are one of the lightest tanks on the market and have great regs, but I have never used one. the armageddons are supposed to be pretty good too, they are by air america.

I had a Conquest, but sold it when I bought a MaxFlo. I now have new style MaxFlo's on both of my Angels. I love 'em!
The reg is kinda big and bulky, but they're easy to rebuild. Personally, I like how they look. And the on/off switch is easy to operate, unlike the Conquest.

NitroDuck bottles are awesome, and the new 5000 psi bottles from Pure Energy are pretty good too.
No contest. 4500 Max Flow all the way. Works great on my IR3.
I've got the preset pmi 68/4500 and it works just fine. I don't know how it could be better. You can probably pick up one for around $150 and the luxfer tanks are 5 yrs.
Good luck.

Go with the max flo. I had an armageddon and it worked great and they have lifetime warranties but i switched to maxflo because if their oustanding flow rate and consistency. I love it to death.

Don't waste your money and an adjustable output system. Stick to a pre-set. I suggest a crossfire 800 psi output fixed sytem. The tanks are now 5 year hydro and the reg has (arguabley) the highest flow rate out there.

Angel AIRs are the best tanks I have ever used.

There you go..... you have just about every tank out there recommended :) I had arguements about this question before. In the end.... I still believe the tanks are all the same. If one Reg. was SO much better than the others, all they would have to do was Publish the flow rates/re-charge rates for everybody to see.
But they don't...why? Because the $400 reg. dosen't flow more than the $175 reg. They would just be proving that their *BEST is just the same as everyone elses....
k... don't get me going...
