ok me being the nice guy that I am im going to take the time to type all of this.

all you need a staple and possably a safty pen
you might need a better motor
this mod works on all boards but works great on v 35 boards

ok when you are looking at your halo board
you well see at the top right hand corner

look down about a 1/4 inch and you should see the letters and numbers c8 and vr1

right beside that you should see 2 little ports
if you have a small enough staple you should just be abel to fit it right in there
BUT
if you DONT (which I didn't) get your safty pen a make a hole all thr way through your board

after you do this take your staple and place it through the 2 holes on the back of your board if it doesnt work then you haven't put it all the way through

and you WILL see a differance

the only bad thing about this mod is that it eats batts. shatters drive cones...and puts to much voltage to the motor but you can buy a new motor to hold it and a st drive cone which is what I did

it spens so fast the when it gets down to about 30 balls in your halo it slengs them around and will barly feed

try it

you wont be sorry

it never blew my motor I just got a new 1 just in case

 :hititraw: :mt: :doc2: :custom:

that is exactly what i want my halo to do.

cuz i dont have to change the batteries enough as it is.

and i want to make sure that when all my pods are spent, and i have 1/4 of a hopper, that none of the balls feed

and i want to buy a new motor

thanks for the tip!! :thumbsdow

:blasting: your idea

it actually works great, saw this mod on another forum awhile back and since then a buddy has done it to quite a few halos and all of em still work great. I dunno bout the poking the hole in the board thing, but we just took some metal wire and put them through the 2 holes and wrapped em around the back

....this was originally posted on PB Nation...do a search in the loaders thread for "Puerto Rico Mod"...

It works, and if you had bought a V35 board to replace your stock board, do the mod to the stock board.... it is as fast as a V35 on setting #6, battery longevity IS AFFECTED, but not a problem if you have MAHA's

no offence bro, but on the dump test, assuming it dumped 120 balls, and im rounding down the time, thats 120 in 4 sec. roughly 30 balls/sec. not bad, but thats what the v5 board is rated at, and reloaders have been known to do.i dont necessarly think this is sopposed to replace eithor of those boards (not sayin thats what you emplied)

on another note, rather than jumping the voltage directly into the motor... draining batteries and effectivly killing the motor, why not start messing with the gear ratios of the belt drive? speed will go up, battery use, motor strain, etc, will all go down. atleast..... in theory. :)

On mine to prevent the last quarter of a hopper from just being thrown around the loader, I put in a small switch that allows me to turn off the mod. With a flip of the switch I can lane at a crazy speed and then for the rest of the game I can conserve batteries. Real easy just drilled a hole in the shell and did a little bit of wiring. And since that was so easy I might put in a switch to turn off the current from the batteries. Thus removing the requirement of unhooking the batteries all the time.

Now if you just add a Hyper-Dash 2 Motor to that then you will Crap your pants..That's interesting because I have a half a dozen of those motors laying around down in my workshop. I also have a plasma dash which is way way faster than a hyperdash. I have a motor which I forget the name of it but i turns at 300,000 rpms however it has nothing in terms of power so almost any load will slow it down. Maybe I need to do a little work with the toys I have laying around. While huge a Novak Brushless might be better and you could even carry the battery in your pack on a long wire. Wanna feed 100bps then that one would definately do it.

Hey Elren can you give a little bit more detailed info on how you installed that switch to turn the PR mod off...wiring where? n e pics.

rix123
05-25-2005, 06:18 PM
...for the 'mechanically adventurous' it could be as simple as a toggle switch with the wires going to the two ports/holes that are bridged for the PR mod. Switch on, the circuit is completed, switch off, reverts back to normal......

flyguy4
05-27-2005, 07:56 PM
how exactly do you do that?

i orderd a plasma motor

rix123

how exactly do you do that?

..simple really. understand that doing the PR mod just completes a circuit between two points on the HALO circuit board. the "wire" / "paper clip" / "staple" connects point a to point b...

..using a toggle switch, or even a sliding switch, your choice, you connect a wire to each side of the switch, then each wire to one of the "points" on the HALO board. the circuit is then allowed to be connected or disconnected depending on the positioning the switch is in....

...think of it this way, a light switch, in one position the circuit is completed when put in the ON position, allowing electricity to flow to the bulb filament and energize it to create light. in OFF position, no flow, no light...

lol but were do i get the switch lol

rix123
05-27-2005, 10:15 PM
...any electronics store like Radio Shack, Circuit City, etc...

..or you can recycle a switch from something like a toy, dead EVO-II toggle switch, etc... use your imagination, you'll be surprised what you might come up with :)

rix123
05-28-2005, 02:49 AM
..ok, here are some pix (quality is so-so) of the connection points....

..sharing is caring...

..make sure the wires make good contact with the sides of the holes or it will act like nothing is working as it should, i.e., no speed up...

Elren

Thanks Rix for explaining that for me. The switch I pulled out of an old broken toy that i've had for a long time. Trust me its simple to figure out. I just put the switch near the bottom. Its out of the way so I don't need to worry about paint hitting it, and its close enough to activate it when I need it.

with all the talk about killin the battery and such maybe someone should come up with the idea of puttin a alternater on there halo :)....just an idea

rix123
06-02-2005, 10:13 PM
...personally, I haven't used the mod'ed board enough to say if it eats batteries at the reported rate or if it harms the motor as reported...

...the 2 boards in the pix are my backup boards to my V35, which feeds my Force fast enough..actually, I don't see any difference between the V35 speed (#6) and a stock board w/PR mod..

..and for all of the claims of burning out the motor, I'm skeptical when I see my friends intellifeed doing the same things the V35 & PR mod doing in relation to "speed" rates the motor turns at...

Who?
07-01-2005, 09:54 PM
I just tried this mod today. ANyone have any problems with it burning out the motor yet? I am going to get a backup just in case, but I was just wondering. Holy crap this thing feeds fast now.... Looks like I just gotta get faster fingers now.... I am jsut wondering if it is worth it or not to add the second switch to toggle the mod..

rix123
07-02-2005, 01:21 AM
...just a little FYI on some 'limited term' data..

..one of my team-mates has been using this mod for over 2+ months now w/his 05 Speed.

..he uses the std 6-AA power pack, just changed the batteries about mid-June..
..averages at least a case of paint each weekend for the past 2+months..
..has had no problems with motor, board marker...
...he's looking to move to the dual 9-volt power conversion to see what it performs like..

So, take it for what it's worth...

That motor is 2.5V

So if you change it. u r going to change you batteries uh?

I have 9V , if I put that motor im gonna burn it with 9V

does the motor constantly run tho? or is it using the eyes still?

warpedx
12-13-2007, 10:37 AM
Looks like the eyes will still be used, the motor will just spin too fast to properly feed when the paint level gets low.
