View Full Version : LPR mini gauge/volumiser - inaccurate?

Just got a very good deal on a dark angel 'Rock' IR3 and included is one of the LPR mini gauges.
Now, with the LPR minigauge on - the needle rests between 6 and 7 bar....should this be between 9 and 10? Or is it something to do with the bar >> psi conversion?
When I put the proper tool kit gauge in, the LPR measures 95 psi dead on as it should.
Am I reading this minigauge all wrong? Or are they wildly inaccurate? Has anyone else had any experience with them mis-showing the LPR?

I'm pretty sure I remember reading on here that these were not the most accurate things. If your tool kit gauge says 95 PSI I wouldn't worry about it as the tool kit is probably the more accurate of the two.

we tested one out at a field a while back and it was horribly innacurate. However it does provide you with a safety net. Use the gauge in the tool kit to determine what your LPR is really set at, then see where the needle is on the mini gauge. This will tell you what your LPR's normal operating pressure is, and then any deviation from that will tell you that your LPR is wrong.

Yes, I was sure the tool kit was accurate - I just wondered if because the mini-gauge measures in bar the needle was supposed to be where it was?
What is the conversion from bar to psi? If it's showing 6.5 bar - what is that in psi?

Google.com should be able to get you to a conversion chart. I mean it has everything else on it!

your tool kit gauge has both Bar and PSI, just check it there

Found it
1psi=.068948 bar
Google .com, search for: metric pressure conversion chart

Right chaps - well it turns out that the mini gauge is TOTALLY accurate!
1 Bar is equal to 14.50377 psi
Therefore 6.5 bar = 94.274505 psi
Absolutely spot on! Long live the mini gauge!

thats good for you, my friend had one and it was terribly off.

Yea, one bar is equal to one atmosphere in pressure.
Mine shows it's just above the 6. Shoots fine, I just got it for the looks

conversions are in the manual on page 36 for the ir3
