I saw an Eclipse ball detent that uses a little rubber nubbin instead of a spring and ball. Has anybody tried one of these? It looks like a nice detent.

Where can I order one of these? I've looked all over.

I've seen 'em on buypb.com. On page 8 of the Angel parts section. For $14.99.

Is it like the Cobra?

Don't think so. From what I gather there is NO ball. It's just 2themax21 says a little rubber nub that holds the ball in place. Supposedly they work really well but I have not tried them nor do I know anyone who has so you;ll have to make your own call on if its worth it or not.

The "indestruct" by cobra is supposed to have a pin type retainer, rather than the ball. It is also rebuildable. This may allow different spring strengths to be tried. Mo's is sending my order for one. I hope it works...the Halo is shoving balls down the barrel...

i just got a cobra indestruc-detent and its alot better than the stock one. its physicially impossible for it to shoot out or break. does its job holding the balls back better than the stock one too.
i was not aware that eclipse made the fang detents for angels. im almost positive its only for impulses as of now. anybody have a link to the angel ones???

Thanks well considering that the eclipse ones probably arent really available for the angel the cobra indestruc-detent is the only way to go if u want an aftermarket detent. so if u are going to get one get this. i have used it already and its alot better. when i use really really small paint my stock detent would just let it go right by even when it was screwed all the way into my ir3. it caused tons of double feeds/barrel breaks. the thing didnt do its job very well. the indestruc detent sticks in a tad bit further and causes a little more resistance for the balls going by. it definitely better performing. the reliability is also great. i havent shot out a plastic ball detent yet. my brother, however, got the worst ball detent luck ever. he got an impulse and the first time using it(besides a few test shots here and there) he shot out both ball detents. all the balls started rolling out his barrel and thats when he found out. there goes 30 bucks to get 2 eclipse ball detents. my point is the cobra indestruc-detent is easily worth the 15 bucks it costs and definitely a worth-while upgrade.

ya i already saw that link. i just find it wierd because nobody on any forums has claimed to own one and planet eclipse's website doesnt even have them for the angel. so i dunno where buypb is getting this from.

That sucks! I like the looks of that detent. I guess I'll try the Cobra one.

But I did e-mail buypb.com and ask them if it was a mistake or not.

I got my cobra detent last night...cool....If I was to build one custom, i wouldn't change a thing. I stretched the spring a bit for more resistance.

I e-mailed Buypb.com and this is the reply they gave me:

"Hello, no they (Eclipse) do make them for the angel, but they are out of stock on them, and have been for a while, and we're not sure when they will get them again. Thanks"

I currently use the Cobra Indestruc-Detent and it's great. I have, however, just ordered the CP Angel detent. It looks alot like the Eclipse one.

tgallo- why on earth would u get rid of a cobra indestruc detent to get a CP??? a CP detent is nothing more than a stock ball detent with the CP cosmetics. doesnt make sense to me to go from the best aftermarket one to another cheap plastic ball.

That's a reasonable question. I didn't get rid of the Cobra...I still have it. I bought the CP for cosmetics. I think the it looks cooler. I realize the Cobra is probably sturdier but I have only used the stock detent on all my other Angels and have never had a problem. Anyways...if the CP ever breaks I still have the stock AND the Cobra for backup.
