Hey all, can anybody spread some light on the role of ram position in chopping. Ive been told that if the ram isnt aligned in the ideal position, the bolt will be more likely to chop/burst balls....:lost:

Please use the Manual. It shows the proper way to align your RAM.

I know how to align my ram, I want to know if a poorly aligned ram will increase the chance of chopping/bursting balls....

I don't know about chopping balls unless it's a function of how deep the bolt travels into the breech. Since a misaligned ram would effect how deep the bolt travels into the breech and puts pressure on the ball.

Put your ram too far in, and you won't be able to open your breech. Plus, you'll start to mismatch the exhaust valve and the bolt, killing velocity and efficiency.

Thanks guys.
I have my ram aligned so the bolt pin causes a slight click against the hammer when i close the breech, which the manual suggests it right, so i guess its cool:)
