Hello Everyone
I purchased the A4 fly off e-bay thinking I was getting a good deal.
Came in a different box, had a few scratches, no accessories, ect. (Bad Mistake)
I ordered a new 68/4500 LP Crossfire preset tank for it. When the tank arrived I went to a paintball store with a range to test it out for the first time.
Here is my guns current setup after I played with the settings to get it to work somewhat.
Dwell is 11.
TR is 12.
LPR is 40. I can't adjust because I am still waiting on the shims I ordered from FMA to arrive. The seller of the gun must have taken some of them out.
I gassed the marker up and attempted to fire it, the bolt stuck forward and the air was hissing out of it.
Next I checked all my settings and noticed that the velocity screw was all the way in.
This makes me think that the person that used it before me had a HP Tank on the marker.
Hopefully it didn't damage any of the seals. I could not hear or feel any air leaking from the marker.
Anyway I adjusted the ram so the bolt pin was hitting the back of the ram groove so when closing the breach it clicked. I am sure that it is positioned correctly. I turned the velocity screw out so that more pressure was going to the marker.
Screw is a little less than even with mini-reg.
Then I tested the marker, it fired and it cycled. Then to make sure it was cycling properly I put the gun into demo mode. I started firing. The marker would cycle ok until I went over 15 cycles per second then it seemed to starve for air.
I played with dwell settings moving it from 11 to 14, it didn’t seem to help so I set it back to 11.
I went out of demo mode to test my velocity when shooting, the paint was high grade and a great match to the barrel, I could blow the ball through but it wouldn’t roll out.
I was getting anywhere from 280 to 310 fps, this didn’t seem right I expected 5 fps+/- or better. I am not sure why the variations are so far apart.
Dirty mini-reg possibly?
The gas consumption seems to be rather high put about 500 rounds through it and dry fired it another estimated 350 and tank dropped from 4200psi to about 1000psi is this normal??
All 500 rounds no chops btw.
I took out my angel tool kit and checked the LPR pressure it was 40 this leads me to believe that I should raise it to about 65psi to fix the cycle problems. When firing with the gauge in the LPR dropped to 20ish then popped back to 40. How fast should the lpr pressure pop back, instantly or should you see a bounce in the gauge? I knoticed a small bounce.
I ordered
1 x Angel 12 Shimms + LPR Stack Springs X (Angels)
1 x L.P LPR Service Pack (Speed/A4)
1 x Universal Mini Reg Service Kit (All Angels)
1 x Universal Seal Pack (Angels)
Already arrived =)
1 x Breech Knob
Grease and Force Oil, WDP Tool Kit
I plan on opening up the gun then cleaning it out completely and adjusting the LPR to 65.
Next I plan on using the seal pack, the mini reg service kit, and the lp service pack.
I really hope that this is going to fix the problem. This gun has been nothing but an expensive headache and I would like to see it rip some paint, since I have invested so much into it. Hopefully it will rip streams of paint to my hearts content when I get done with it.
Any suggestions on what is causing my problem?
What settings do you think I should try?
Thank you for all your help.
