View Full Version : Leaky Tank...

I have a brand new crossfire lp 68/4500 and found that it is leaking.

I put it in some water and discovered that it is leaking from the side valve (where the value connects to the tank) that has a red rubber cover on it to keep dirt from plugging it.

Can I just empty the tank, unsrew that fitting and rescrew it in with locktite or is there anyother way I should fix that (or do I need to have crossfire replace anything)?

Thanks!

Rob

All you need to do is drain the tank, unscrew the fill nipple, put either some lock-tite or teflon tape around the theads and screw it back in. Its really simple and as long as you drain the tank first you can't really hurt anything.

if i were u i would just take it back for a new one. no sense in messing with the tank when u can take it back and get it replaced.

well mine was fine at first but then after a couple weekends of hard play it started leaking so i dont know if that really qualifies as a return

definitely drain the tank first. itll be an easy fix with loctite or teflon tape.

A lot of people are saying that their crossy's are leaking, I'd either take it back for a new one, or take it back for a different company. Crossfire used to be good regs, but with as many problems as I've been hearing about lately, I traded mine for a Guerrilla Air reg when it started leaking. I haven't had any problems with it, and it's a lot smaller profile than the crossfire.

i've never heard anyone say anything bad or have any problems with a crossfire tank, i've owned three and certainly have never had a problem. i did have a leaky fill nipple once, but i don't consider that a big deal, being as how it took like 30 seconds to fix.
