I got my crossfire LP 68/4500 filled last monday and today before playing the guage read 3000.

Is that normal? Should I just get it filled closer to play day? If not what could be causing that?

It is brand new only played with a few times so this seemed a bit strange!

thanks!

Rob

idk if this belongs here, but your tank should not be leaking like that.. if it has gone down 1500psi in 1 weak theres something wrong and send it in if it starts bothering you enough

When I bought my tank around Xmas time (70 ci 4500 psi Crossfire LP tank) it came with faulty gauge. There was a small leak in the gauge that was so small it took me 2 fills to realize that air was leaking. To find out if it is leaking put your tank in a bucket of water and look for the source or the bubbles. If no bubbles show then theres no leak. Since my gauge was leaking all I had to do was get a new gauge.

Ok...

I tried the "put it in water" thing. The leak is coming from the stem that is right beside the guage (the one that has a rubber cap on it to protect from getting dirt in it). Does that mean that I need to get it replaced or is it as easy as emptying the tank and taking off that piece and putting some lock tite on it and refastening?

Thanks!

First, was it filled all the way last week? Second it is not necessarily bad but I rarely leave that much pressure in a tank for an extended period of time, say more than a day. Third, this does belong in the tank and barrel forum.

Is it leaking through the fill nipple? I say just bring it in to your local shop and show them your problem. They should be able to fix it.
