There have been rumors about a bunch of stuff like that. I hope that they tell us what's going on at the MTV show.

Reading OXM they said it wasn't going to be backwards compatible like the PS2 and that would be disappointing.

Backwards compatible is being able to play game on previous versions. So if it isn't, then you can't play your old xbox games on the new one.

that is one of the most retarded things that microsoft could do because they would have to re-start devolopment, or at least overhaul, for every single game that is currently in devolopment

I heard they will have different sized hard drive sizes in different models. I like the hard drive, and not making it backwards is the stupidest thing, disk size probably hasn't changed, so all they would need to do is program a few extra lines into the grahics sequence, assuming they use the same encoding, to make it backwards compatible. I will still buy it though. Somewhere I heard you need to buy your own ram, now if this is true then microsoft is screwed and I think they are idiots.

it would be hard to make it backwards compatible since the new processor runs ball and joint models instead of wire models for gameplay characters, which means they'd have to redo the games to look right anyways

8 controller ports is the stupidest thing, you would need to rent a movie theater to be able to see anything, 4 is the right way to go, but if you're rich, and have room for 8 players on your tv, then sadly go ahead while I stick to my 34" tube.

On g4tv the screensavers maybe or one of those shows talked about the xbox 2 and had some pics they thought were more legit that some floating around the net. They said that a source had told them that there is supposed to be Halo 2.5 released with the xbox 2. It is the same as Halo 2 but with revamped grafix I guess and probably fit for the newer features of the xbox.

Unfortunately the new xbox wont be Backward compatible all because the "GPU" is either Nvidia or Ati cant remeber but anyway its the opposite of whatever the previous xbox was so all the old xbox games were programmed using the other type of GPU. I also heard that the controllers were going to be wireless as well as the xbox itself so when you want to LAN it up you dont have to worry about having cable to hook them up. But there was still going to be a CAT5 hook up for those who dont have wireless routers for Xbox live.

I want a psp now, I will wait till Hanukkah, or Christmas (for those who are Christian), to get the xbox 360. why was it 360, if it was that they would end up in the same place in before 360 degrees is the same place as 0 degrees on a circle.

i love my psp, its definately worth buying since sony has bought MGM Studios and is putting all the movies MGM still had the rights to on UMD media discs, its like a ps2 in your hands

freakin sweet, i tried one out at best buy, but they had a movie (spiderman2) in it, needless to say the graphics were great, but i would liked to have played a game. Is there a problem with the square button on your psp, i heard they were having problems with it. Did you do the internet hack through wipeout on your psp.

Any of you guys catch the preview? I saw it and the whole wireless idea sounds cool but the graphics didnt really impress me all that much. Some games looked real nice but others looked pretty crappy. What did you all think of it.

it was kinda a letdown. I've alrdy seen the pics on internet (figured microsoft could keep it under better wraps than that). Looks pretty kool. but i wouldnt even think of buying one before 2006. Knowing microsoft, the first few batches will have their fair share of bugs (i know my early made Xbox does). i like how they took to making everything wireless, it'll make lanning a lot better (:geek: moment there). I'm sure it'll prolly have a hefty price tag though, my thoughts r 450$-500$ range (i will share y i think this some other time, too much effort to type it at 1:30am.

about the psp, i havent had any problems with buttons and the dead pixel problem has been solved with the second batch, and yes i use the internet hack through wipeout pure, and if you like games that make you think and are extremely challenging, get Archer Maclaen's Mercury, great game a definate must

Not sure about it yet, I'm gonna give it 3-6 months after release before I consider getting one. I'm happy with my original xbox.

Sony needs to put out more solid games, they use marketing by volume. Don't get me wrong there are good games out there for the ps2 but the ratio of game vs quality games is horrible. Nintendo is good for Zelda, Metroid, and Resident Evil, other than that it's a kids system. They are the ones that really need to kick it up a notch. IMO there have been more quality games out there for the xbox and if they continue the trend it will be a kick ass system.

to add to wut connor said, for some reason the guy who runs nintendo (dont remember his name) believes that the consumer (u, me, all the ppl, for those that don't know wut it means) doesn't rly want internet play. I think thats a pretty stupid assumption, considering that i myself buy a lot of games purely for the fact that the online play rocks. So i think that's one thing that is rly keeping nintendo from being a bigger contender in the console world. Although they seem to be owning in the handheld world and with the new gorrier (sp?) zelda that should be pretty kool.

The 2 "controller slots" are actually memory card slots, the new xbox controllers are wireless. nifty eh. Internet play is important, the campaign for halo 2 sucks, if it werent for online I would microwave the disc, let it sit out in the sun, have my dog crap on it, and then send it to bill gates house. hehehe

There are 5 makers of the original x-box, phillips, samsung, and a few others not sure, don't remember who the others are, to see who made yours you can lookat the cd tray, if you compare with ohter peoples you can see how many different ones there are. Some are ported, some look like they hold mini cds, I forgot all the details.

Just so you know, lots of people forge passes into the expo, the companies actually like it. It helps the hype. All you need is photoshop. If you know what to do, you don't actually need to be on the books to get in, you can be behind the blinds, or under the table, under the rug, you get the point.

The reason that they named the new xbox the 360 is because they wanted it to sound superior to ps3 and the new game cube called the revolution. 360 is a higher number than three and 360 degrees is a revolution.

It may be able to communicate wirelessly as a router, but as of chatting from a xbox to a psp, then no, it would probably be software rights infringement (sp).
