I just got my IR3 yesterday, and I took it to leagues to night and got no end of advice on "must do" things. I tried finding a thread like this with the search function, but no luck, not sure even really what keywords to use. Anyway, my question is, is there anything that I really NEED to do with my new IR3 to avoid ruining it down the road?

1. Set the LPR to 95-100, stock lpr usu. is way too high.
2. Get a nice trigger job.

Doing stuff to your iR3 will ruin faster than not doing stuff. As stated, raise your lpr. After some breaking in, you should check it again, as they typically drop a bit.
Most of all, have fun.

best thing to do at this point is to go buy paint and lots of air, and start getting used to it etc. You don't need to make any adjustments internally to the marker what so ever. You won't need to make any sort of adjustments til probably somewhere around 10k shots so you've got 5 cases of paint to shoot before any worries.......enjoy your new marker. The only other thing to do is spend a little time reading the manual and learning how to set up COPS so you can use it. Once you get that set up you'll be even happier with the marker

All of the above....if it ain't broke, don't fix it. By the way, congratulations!!!

Get the tool kit. It's the best $50.00 you can spend hands down!

As stated, break it in, check it all out to make sure all is well especially after the break in period (here's where the tool kit comes into play), RTFM (Read The Freakin' Manual). Other than that I'd say get a good barrel system and a reliable high flowing air source. Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice guys. I just got a little taken back at leagues last night with people telling me horror stories about $500 repairs and such.
So what's all in that took kit that makes it so awesome?

the tool kit contains the LPR gauge, the LPR extraction tool, and the Ram extraction/adjustment tool
yes it really is the best $50 you'll spend on your Angel

ya man, angels rip right off the bat and are probably the most reliable high end electro out there. no contest.
3 things i would personally do though:
1. get a took kit. its the best "upgrade" for your angel.
2. set the lpr to 95psi, then after a few cases of paint reset it again because it probably will drop after the break in period.
3. something i like to do is properly set the snap ring(go to manual and read it). mine didnt come locktited and i started to get first shot drop off because the vibration made it turn itself til it was too tight. so i would get the tool kit, re-locktite that thing and let it dry, then finally set it properly.
after all that you will be 100% ready to play. you more than likely wont have a single problem for a LONG, LONG time. probably til the minireg needs a rebuild. so if u want to be sure you angel wont ever give u a problem do everything i suggested.

I would advise a Cobra stick trigger, and a cobra fang grip along with the WDp toolkit, if you like to walk the trigger the cobra stick is for you

I also advise a cobra bolt! ...I have not tested the R-11 but I am happy with my cobra bolt... but in any case the stock works fine!!!

I agree with everyone else, the best thing to buy is the tool kit and a good barrel system.
Take its virginity! Just clean up. Please.

definitely break it in first. Down the road youll start to realize any upgrades you may need for it. Until then just light up as many people as possible with it!!!
