went to sc village today and lets just say if i never go back it will be to soon. all the speedball fields were cool but no reffs whatsoever, none at all. people were just jumping in on games that were almost over, people refusing to leave the fields for the next group, etc... tombstone is smaller but i will go there or outlaw from now on. :thefinger sc village

I'm not keen on playing where the field has no organization...

Just got done at Real McCoy's in North Carolina. It was 65, sunny, and winds about 25-35 mph! I was shooting from about the 22 over to the opposite 15 bunker and I had to aim about 15 ft to the left of the bunker to get them where I wanted 'em. It was cool to see a few go behind bunkers and get people who thought they were safe
I love this sport! I wish I'd have started playing when I was 10 or 12 y/o. I think I'll be playing until I'm pushing up daisies.
Sorry you didn't get to play, Al. I hope you find a great home field in NM.

The field is in Princeton, a few miles past Goldsboro and Seymore Johnson AFB. I live in Wilmington. It's about 2 hours away, but our team is sponsored there, so it's worth the drive.

Sunny and hot here in Oklahoma. It wasn't a bad day for play at all. Played at local field, nothing too big.. YET but soon we will be the biggest in our town. Alot of speedball games were played as well as a couple of 'horseshoe' games. Horseshoe sucked IMO because I was the only one on my team who hauled @$$ down the field to play the other end while teammates stayed behind the net because they were scared of getting shot or just to damn lazy. I am still a noob but i am getting better because I am getting more kills than i have in the passed. Snap shooting and shooting with left hand needs work, but off the break, getting to my bunker at the 30 then cross shooting is working pretty good. Paintball is pretty fun when you aren't actually scared of getting shot.lol. Any of you guys have any helpful tips on shooting left handed, what to do when you are just getting railed on, or when your team goes down and its only you and paint is flying from all directions??

Snap shooting and shooting with left hand needs work,

Any of you guys have any helpful tips on shooting left handed, what to do when you are just getting railed on, or when your team goes down and its only you and paint is flying from all directions??

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is practice, practice, drill, and practice.

For off-handed issues, what we normally do is spend the whole day shooting with our opposite hand. I'm left handed, but an off-handed day meant spending the whole day shooting right handed regardless of the situation. Sucks big time, but you get really good with both hands that way. Once you've spent a few days doing that, start working on running drills that make you switch sides and shoot quickly. Sometimes we'll set up a two-on-one snap shooting drill where the two side takes opposing corners like back left and back right, then put the single somewhere around the same side center 30. Teaches you to play tight and use both hands.

For snap shooting, probably the best thing to do is a one-on-one drill with each player in bunkers about 10-15 feet apart, hopper only, no camping.

For when it's just you, run two-on-one, three-on-one, or four-on-one. Keep the one in a bunker in the back probably and let the other side start at the 50. Teaches the advantaged team how to approach an end of game scenario and teaches the solo guy how to switch sides, keep focused, stay calm, and use his bunker. The most important thing to do in those situations is to stay calm, grasp the situation, and start mowing muppets. Getting excited or antsy is going to make you do something stupid and get nailed by a team with a definite advantage.
