does lowering the lpr affect the performance at all. ive put a volumiser on and removed some shims to lower the pressure to about 45psi. does this have any other effect than reducing kick from the marker?

yes. It is easier on paint. Said another way, it is more tolerant of lower quality paint.
Did you change your dwell setting?

ye ive had to increase my dwell quite a bit to get the right velocity. so there shouldnt be any problem with a low lpr setting?

I don't think so. As long as you can still get your balls flying at ~280 fps. If it's so low that you can't get your dwell high enough to compensate, then it's a problem.
I have mine at 60 psi but if yours works well at 45, be happy.

I'm trying to reduce kick so I'm doing the same.
but won't lower LPR and increasing dwell lower ROF and increase barrel breaks? any feedback :notsure:

Lower LPR does impact ROF but mine is set at 11 and I've seen no impact on ROF.
I'm having a hard time imagining how a lower LPR pressure increases barrel breaks.
A lower LPR does reduces ball breaks in that the pressure exerted on the ball is lower and the volume of air is greater giving it a softer cushion.... making the marker more tolerant of lower quality paint.

Lower lpr also decreases the chances of chops. While no marker will completely eliminate chops as long as paint is still somewhat brittle and has a seam, a lower lpr will decrease the chances of a chop. As Al said it will also be gentler on the paint as it is being rammed into the barrel.

I called one of the MT stores and he stated that too low LPR at high ROF would result in barrell breaks.
I assume by not "recoiling"/"recocking" enough to ensure a full complete shot.
I noted that there are alot of barrel break issues but no real good response as to why :notsure:

Barrel breaks and chops are totally different. I can't possibly see how lower lpr could cause barrel breaks or chops... higher dwell makes it better on paint too. You'll lose efficiency, but everything else should be good. IMO
