i have a freak barrel, although i do not have the kit, but i have had only good experiences with this barrel, its accurate, quiet, and if you chop it cleans out itself real nicely.

I think the stock barrel is just fine as long as you can find paint that matches the bore.

It seems like .689 to me. It matched with my bros .689 CP pretty much the same (same paintballs seemed to fit it equally). I did this so I could try and figure out the bore size when I first got it.

You'd think they would stamp it on the barrel somewhere. :lightbulb

Well, I used to have a freak and I wasn't really impressed. I currently use stock barrel, but I dunno if it was my bad aim, the paint, or the barrel that made me miss Chris lasoya. I am planning on getting a Lucky 15 when I get the money though.

The stock barrel is a progressive .689. It has a control bore that is approximately 5 inches and then tapers out to about .700 I had some problems with accuracy on my stock barrel, always wanted to shoot right for some reason. I went to a stiffi, and then a freak kit, and I finally have gotten the best performance out of a scepter kit from Powerlyte. The freak did shoot well for overall accuracy, noise, and range, however, it was a pain to clean as many of the inserts would pull out with the squeeges and the durability of the inserts leaves a lot to be desired, especially the .689 and larger inserts. Just seemed to be too thin and delicate, also they were not consistently the same size as marked when a digital caliper and micrometer were used on them. .689 was more like .693. I would think if you have a newer freak kit, or you opt for the one with the stainless inserts, you should be happy with it.

The freak inserts are about 5 inches.

hey morning wood i hear u abotu the freak being a pain to clean but if u get an AA back instead of the normal freak back its 100 times easier since it has flat porting instead of the recessed like the freak does and btw snowfire who do u play for that u ended up going aginast laysoya

i have a freak and its great. its not hard to clean, i use an old toothbrush to clean all my stuff. and there is no porting on the back of an AA or the freak. if you meant the front then i would suggest an AA. it has more porting = less turbulance infront of the ball = more accurate (generally)
