Actually they are there right now, playing with some of our boys before the tourney. They are here for 3 days of practice today, Sat & Sun.
They are all closed practices that run before the field opens (9am - noon) but you are welcome to come and watch. Usually a couple guys from each team stick around to play with the walk ons later in the day.
And you don't have to tell me about bonus balls...all the way to the box, week in, week out. Ouch.
BTW, my money is on the Rat Dogs for today's tourney although Mayhem could challenge them.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, mayhem did not prove to be the problem.... but 2nd and 3rd place isn't anything to complain about. We are all happy about the way that tournament went, both in regard to how we played and in the way that the event was run. We played stand up ball all day long as we always do and proved once again that you CAN place in the money with out wiping, playing on or cheating of any kind.
Moreover, we were THOROUGHLY impressed with the reffing and the way the tournament ran. The ref's did the best job i've ever seen or even heard of for that matter. They kept the games running fast (And I mean DAMN fast) and best of all they were right in the thick of the fight, without being in the way, and right on top of calls. I thought there was no possible way that a field could run it's first ever tournament in only 6 hours, including finals. Damned if I wasn't wrong. We accepted our trophies, got our pictures taken and I looked at my watch.... 12:05 am. (Tournament started at 6 pm)
I'll be back, any tourney you've got.... we'll be there. Thanks for the best tournament experience i've ever had Atomix.
I have to add as the captain of a throw-together team at this same tournament...
Doc is correct on all counts, this tournament ran REALLY smooth. I told my friends I dragged out of retirement for this tournament that the guys who ran this field were good, that the field was really professional, but that this was their first tournament. I told them to expect some mixups, a slow schedule like most tournaments, yada yada.
I shouldn't even have opened my mouth. Everything ran on time, the refs were indeed execellent and plentiful, and the field was of course great.
We didn't place last (12 of 16) and were happy to do so considering the five of us hadn't played together but once, and two of the team hadn't played more than once in five years. We got to win a few games, we got schooled a few games, but never did I walk off the field thinking we were 'cheated' by the other team, or the refs, we were beaten fair and square.
JT's voice might have been going out by the end of the night, but he sure did keep everyone informed of when their next game was, the only rush was myself to make the first game after the captain's meeting finished five minutes before.
Great tournament, and I'll be back as well.

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed themselves and everything went off without a hitch. I wish I could have watched more but from what I could see there was nothing but good sportsmanship and clean, hard games from all the teams. Thanks to all the teams who came and made our first tourney so great.
It was good to see plenty of AOG members in attendance as well. We should have more tournaments in the near future but nothing is set as of yet.
