Hello all, I'm new to the forum and just from looking at a few of the post I can tell that this is a great place for information.
Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a used 05 Speed today and was wondering what I should look for or what questions I should ask the seller about the marker before purchasing.
It comes with an empire hopper, 68/4500 lpr tank (not sure of the manufacturer), and the seller said that its been through only 3 cases of paint. All of this for around 1200 dollars. I'm not that familiar with the 2005 Speed or any other Angel for that matter; and I just need some help with making the right decision. Thanks for any help you guys, and girls, can provide.

Just did some quick math in my head and here's what I see:
First, a new speed 05 can be purchased for roughly 900-950 unless you want the fade and then it's 100 bucks more (I think).
So, assuming you're not buying a fade, we'll say 950 for a brand new speed. Then a tank can run anywhere from 100 bucks for the steel tanks to a lot depending on whether it's a fiber tank and so on.
The hopper, which I'm not that familiar with adds another 150 we'll say.
So, the big factor in the 1200 price tag is the tank. And are you sure it doesn't come with a drop forward? Because that's gonna cost you roughly 50 bucks.
If it were me, I would want to know a lot more details about the gun (any improvements), and the tank. I would suggest that you research what each of the items you are buying would cost you brand new and make a decision from there.
For your benefit, I'd say that I have at least 1350 in my gun, tank, hopper and drop forward.

Me I would check the following before making a purchase:
-Check their feedback and confirm it with someone (Ebay ID, etc)
-Ask if he/she was the original owner or if he purchased it from someone else
-Original Hydro on the Tank and Manufacturer is important
-Get some detailed scans of the gun...
FYI: A NIB box 71/4500 Crossfire tank will run you under $200....

Yea again, Im not sure of make and model of the tank, I just know from what the seller is saying that it is a 68/4500 lpr.
But now that I think about it, I may have to check the date on the tank.
It does have a drop on it, but again, Im not too sure.
You have to understand that when my wife said those lovely words," Sure honey, I want you to buy it" all the blood went to my feet and I couldnt think of any questions to ask the seller until now.

The seller is the owner of our local paintball store, but I dont currently have any way of getting customer feedback just yet. And the marker is on, what did he say......oh cosignment type of sell. I hope that this is not a stupid question but how would I get detailed scans of the gun?
Big Al, it is the fade.

If its at your local PBStore, then take a look at the gun. I meant detailed scans as in pictures of the gun sent through email.... Also when you purchase it see if the store will provide a warranty. Furthermore, if the store is selling it and it is on consignment then they are selling it for someone else...
consignment : shipped to a dealer who pays only for what he sells and who may return what is unsold <goods shipped on consignment>

Thanks guys, I really appreicate the suggestions. At least now I can go into the store with a better idea of what to look for and with what questions too ask.
Im so excited... i mean come on dont get me wrong, I love my Custom M98 and I adore my Black dragun Sniper, but this is a freaking Angel man.......ohhh oh ohh.....think I just had one.
I want to buy it most definitely, I just dont want to be so excited that I forget to verfiy whether its a good deal or not.

Get a good look at the inside of the breech to see how much wear and tear there has been. At times, it can give you a good feel on how much paint really went through the gun. If only 3 cases went through it, there should be almost no sign of visible wear. If there is a sign of wear, it'll probably be very minimal.
When I sold my 05, I took pictures of the breech and bolt to show that there was no wear at all. I put maybe 6-8 cases of paint through my 05 then I sold it.

actually, as I think about it, I realize I've got more in my gun than 1350. This thread is too depressing.

...and when I got it, it was in PERFECT condition!
