Hey guys I have my used 05 speed coming (previously ZOOM ZOOM's) It should be here Wednesday. I know your supposed to oil every 2-3 cases in asa and lube ram every 8-10 cases. I want to be ready when this thing gets here. Do u need the angel tool kit or is there a way to service this 05 (get the ram out etc.) with "normal tools". I have a fairly good selection of tools because I avidly maintence dirt bikes. Obviously I know i need metric allens, but what other tools cant u live without. Give me some tips here guys if i need this angel tool kit ill order today. Thanks for help, cant wait to get this marker! :patriot: :patriot: :patriot: :notsure:

If you're just looking to service then you don't really need the tool kit. All you need is circlip pliers to remove the ram to grease it. BUT if you're looking to get more complicated and adjust stuff like your LPR, then you probably need the toolkit because it has the pressure gauge and the LPR removal tool. I personally would recommend getting the toolkit. I didn't think I need it but I got it anyway, and i'm glad i did. It was a wise investment especially when you have an angel. :bouncer:

Get the tool kit. It's only 60 dollars and do you want to risk mucking up your gun trying to get something out becuase you didn't want to use the right tools? In paintball as in the rest of life, having the right tools makes a world of difference.
Second thing I would recommend is going to the hardware store and buying a wooden dowel. 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch diameter is fine. you can use this as your blunt object to remove the exhaust valve.
Finally, I went to Sears and bought their good snap ring pliers ($20 or so) and they are so nice. you can reverse them from inside to outside snaprings and it has different points so that you can find the right points to fit your angel snap rings. Again, the right tools make all the difference.

Before I go any farther, I think there's a sticky here on the tool kit contents.
But, things I have in my tool box that I rarely need are :
a small strap wrench. (sometimes its hard to get the barrels out of the gun)
a small pipe cutter for cutting macroline
extra macroline
O-ring removal tools (buy them at walmart, $3 for about four in different shapes. very handy)
extra o-rings
teflon tape (never used it in the field but people are always borrowing it from me so GET YOUR OWN!)
hmmm. that about covers it.

If this is your first paintball gun, you went right for the best. Probably smarter than me. I bought a $150 spyder (times two because of my son) and worked my way up to the speed from there.
Good luck and have fun with it.
