I just recently installed the Z Board into my eggy.. After I put it together I realized that it does not have the Speed adjuster knob like the Y board... is this normal or did I get a defective board... Thanks a lot guys

Yup that's exactly it. My first one I noticed this and thought I had not lined it up correctly and took the thing apart only to find a lack of the adjustor knob. After a little research I found that they did not use the adjustor knob.

put your finger in the feedneck and poke it in and out (with loader on) and you will hear a change in speed...it goes faster when it detects passing balls to keep up with your gun..so there is no need for the adjuster..

A potentiometer is basically a variable resistor. As the knob is turned up the resistance is lessened, hence more power gets to the motor and therefore it is faster. As the pot is turned down the reverse happens. The only problem with pots is that you cannot have a variable resistor yield no resistance on its highest setting. They had to remove this otherwise some voltage would have been lost as most people kept it turned up to the highest setting anyway.

Must be nice to have any finger that is small enough to do that.

Too bad VL didn't send some sort of plastic or rubber plug for the hole on the side of your loader now. I remember the first week I had mine before I get it plugged I took a direct hit there and paint covered the board inside.

I knew about sticks, battle swabs etc... I just thought it must be nice to have an option of using a finger.

Fried the board actually, don't know how. I sent the whole loader to VL, they replaced the entire thing and plugged the hole for me.
That was almost 2 years ago, though. At the time my roommate worked for JT so he got it done for me. Don't think they'd do the same now.

Piece of tape, sticker, super glue, etc... There are many things you can use to plug the hole or just leave it open.

its amazing because after u putthe zboard in it looks like its not that much faster, but aparently it is because i put up the setting of my speed and it still could keep up.
