The Evovle paperwork states to set their minireg to 300PSI before the install. Anyone do this?
I was running the modified spring stack for my HP tank (I know - get an LP, but who can find a crossfire 70/4500 LP right now). It was performing fine at the required 190PSI until I noticed the documentation from Evolve. Basically I had to add the washer back into the LPR to get a pressure of 300 with my HP tank. What do you guys think of the modified pressure regulation?

I guess no-one saw the requirements.... Well let me tell ya - don't do it. Once i went up to 300 everything took a crapola. I'll shoot gordon a quick e-mail to ask him about this one.

do what works. they just give you guidlines.
on another note, a modded mini-reg and HP tank is fine. dont make spending $200 on a new tank your priority.

Yep, thats what I'm going with. As far as the tank goes, I've been using the modded reg now for a few weeks and it does work fine. Makes it nice when you pay for all day fills and switch between markers.
Thanks

correct me if I am not understanding you.
\The quickset up guide says to set air system to between 450 and 800 psi,, that to me, means the air tank itself. So unless your running less than that out of your airtank leave it alone. I am running a stock PMI Pureenergy high pressure.
The inline regulator should be set to 300 psi. I have a gauge on my Flys flashtank that I have turned up to read a little above 300psi.
The LPR was shimmed to 50psi and then installed the Evolve adjuster on and turned down a "little" basically just below the 50 indicator.
Dwell is at eight and will be going to 7 to try and get the "spikes" down.
I have been running it for four days now, chronos 290 and "Spikes" at 300 FPS .
I have tried the "stick my finger in the neck and "bounce " the bolt, It works,,, VERY WEIRD! I can shoot 19 BPS often.
My Evolve set up is working SUPERFINE.
Every now and then a very fine leak sounds out of the LPR adjust caps but its intermitent and goes away. ???
I followed the directions pretty well and it all seems to be running fine so far.

I think we're on the same page, sort of. I am also running a high pressure tank. I do not have a guage on my flash tank BUT, with the advice from others on this site, change out my guage on the tool kit with a higher reading guage. I then screwed THAT into the exhaust valve side and read there. Origionally i was running 190. When I upped it to 300 for the Evolve kit all heck broke loose. I therefore backed it down to around 200, shimmed the LPR to 100 (that is according to the evolve paperwork) and used the LPR adjuster screw to back that pressure to 45PSI. The kit works awesome now. I easily fired off ropes with NO SHOOTDOWN and my frame read --XX YOU ARE OFF THE SCALE-- Now all I need to do is recheck velocity, oh and get a new bolt (because the rubber peice in mine broke).
