I received this as an EMAIL. I am forwarding it to you.

I believe to to be true......

BAD MOVE STARBUCKS!!!

Starbucks Coffee

"Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support in their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it , and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, we should not support them by buying any of their products. As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support of me, and I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

Starbucks has the deepest respect and admiration for U.S. military personnel. We are extremely grateful to the men and women who serve stateside or overseas. We sincerely appreciate that they are willing to risk their lives to protect Americans and our values of freedom and democracy. While Starbucks as a company cannot directly donate to military personnel, many of our partners (employees) show their support by donating coffee.

Starbucks partners receive one pound of free coffee each week as an employee benefit (known as "partner mark-out"). Many of our partners have elected to send their weekly mark-out of coffee to members of the military or military families, and related organizations. Our partners have collected and shipped numerous pounds of Starbucks coffee overseas.

As an example of this generosity, our partners in our Atascadero, California store sent their weekly mark out coffee to troops in Afghanistan so they are able to enjoy a little piece of home. Our customer relations department in Seattle donated hundreds of pounds of coffee to the sailors in the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group.

That's suicide to make a claim like that for a company. Glad I didn't have to switch brands.

lol, it's crazy how ass holeish ppl can be. Everyone is so worried about voicing their own opinion as loud as they can about the war, that they forget that we have ppl out there fighting it. Whether they like the war or not, they should still support the men and women that r making sacrifices in our american uniforms.

Edit: just read the second e-mail....that's better

I am currently serving in Iraq, and yes thank you to all who continually send us things that remind us of home. I am glad there has been some resolve in this particular situation, but it is still disheartening to know that there are those select few that do not support my comrades here in Iraq. What we are doing here in this nation is very good thing. The news stations ONLY report on the bad that happens, but I send an e-mail once a week to everyone in my contact list with at least one picture of how we are HELPING this country. We (as a coalition) have helped to get new shoes to kids and their families in northern Iraq, are rebuilding anything and everything at least here in downtown Baghdad, and last but not least we are helping them help themselves. We are helping them fight for themselves, but most of all we are helping them learn. Many of the people in this country cannot even read or right Arabic, and many people in the US cannot even fathom this. They will say, "We have these problems in the US too though." Yeah we do, but everyone is given an opportunity some just opt not to take it. Well I will get off my soapbox... for now. Thanks again to those of you who support my comrades and I. If any of you have ANY paintball DVDs that you can copy, I would love to get a copy just PM me.

I don't regularly drink coffee but do recall seeing a starbucks bag in our barracks. Here in Iraq any kind of items from home are cherished...well until consumed lol. I've never dealt with Starbucks myself and I too am glad its resolved. I'll take some of those paintball dvd's as well lol. Anyways, just remember keep the faith because "The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him"

It really irritates me when people protest against the wars and our Military. It is even worse when they do not support the troops. For those people, I say leave the US and live in another country. There are tons of people from all different countries who live elsewhere because they do not believe in what their country does anymore.

Ahh, one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. Marines are always fun to keep around and make fun of. Before you blow a head gasket, I am in the Army and have been so for 16 years active so I have earned the right to mess with Marines just as Jarheads have earned the right to mess with me.

I miss the Corps...but most people Aren't Ready for the Marines Yet... I've always thought the competitiveness between the different branches is good for morale...
