So, for those of u with the version 2 evolve kit ...have you had any problems with it and does it work accordingly to what they say it does? I wanted to get an evolve kit since they came out but have been putting off because I was hearing about a lot of problems, so is everything worked out or what?
Thanks?

As long as you dont use the lpr adjuster your fine. And the valve is questionable.

So then that means they haven't worked the kinks out yet huh?

whats wrong with the lpr adjuster.

The lpr adjuster is what is causing the drop off. I used to be able to run my LPR at 42 psi without the kit. After installing everything i was only able to get to 52 without drop off, and Evolve claimed 35 psi could be done with the kit. SO, my process of elimination I found that the lpr adjuster was the cause of this. So i took it off and am only using the hammer and valve from the kit. I didnt buy the kit for the adjuster anyhow.
Maximus from JOY DIVISION only uses the newton hammer in his Angel. The cup seals were giving him problems, and the lpr asjuster is just a problem in itself.

Damn, I don't wanna buy it then. Unless I can only by the hammer and the valve.

I thought the cup seal was supposed to fix the o ring problem?

I'm still waiting for mine. To the best of my knowledge they have not been sending the new cup seals out yet or at least I have not gotten mine. About a month ago I got a half a dozen replacement o-rings from Evolve to use while I was waiting for the new cup seal.

bwahahaha ...I guess they gave you those o-rings cuz you're probably gonna need them waiting for it.

I know, I asked specifically for replacements while I was waiting for the cup seal. They should have my address on file and lacking an announcement from them or a post from someone who's received the new cup seal I am guessing that they are not finished testing it. I'd wait on the V-2 until they have a fix for the v-1.

Hi all
we have just finished testing the new cup seals this weekend for Martin from Evolve, he wanted to ensure that there would be no problems again before he shipped them out. We had 6 angel speeds running the V.2 evolve kits all of sunday with not one leak or one problem (had problems with the paint and halos but thats a different story).
I would expect the new valves to start shipping soon
cheers

So if I buy one it's gonna work perfectly?

We have been running 6 of the new kits now for 3 weeks, we had an initial problem with the valve stems, which we reported back to Martin. We had the new ones on thursday, i put 2 x 4500psi fills thriugh my 05 with out any sign of the valves leaking on the friday and we played with the 6 guns this weekend in which we had no shootdown, or leaks from the valve.
The kit seems to be preforming as stated, (after being set up as per my previous post) but time will only really tell,
cheers

Unless the LPR adjuster has been redone, the LPR will still have the same problem. IT will cause major drop off and inconcsistany.

correct me if im wrong but i heard that the drop off was due to people not setting their lpr to 100 psi first

We have experienced no noticable drop off at High rates of fire as yet using the V2 Newton kit and that is with the LPr set at 100psi and dropped to 40psi using the evolve adjuster

I was just wondering, some of us have the older kit, but are getting the newer upgrade. It was mentioned that the newer lighter hammer was incorporated into the kit because the lower mass of the moving valve parts allowed for its weight to be reduced. This said, is there a foreseeable incompatibility between the older valve stem (Long), and newer lighter hammer?

Very good question !
I just ordered some spare sparts for my kit & the new cup seal from Evolve !
They know that I have the "old" kit (long thingy) but they didn't mention that there might be a problem !
I hope there won't... :tunes:

I don't think there will be a problem. I have just ordered a 'Lite' version of the kit but with the Long volumiser (they don't have the short ones in red) but I was assured by Gordon at Evolve (nice bloke) that it would have the new cup seal etc and there wouldn't be any issues in that respect.

I got my replacement short volumizer and cup seal a few days ago. When I took out my old valve, the oring was incredibly deformed and on it's way out. The new cup seal paired with the shorter volumizer is quality and will last as long as any stock wdp part. I just need some time to break the kit in before I can eliminate most of the kick.

How many shots does it take to break it in? Should I fire paint or dry fire durring this process? thanks!

the break in shot seems to differ from marker to marker, but i would after around 1000 to 1500 shots, recheck and reset the lpr and the input pressure as the springs should have broken in.

I would say that 3000-5000 shots is a good ballpark.
