I've heard some good stuff about PMI Evil paint. Have you guys tried it? Ya like it?

It seems kinda hard to find, but I just ordered a case from PaintballGear.com. Free shipping right now. What size Freak insert do think I should try with it?

I used evil paint in a tounry on sunday... not one break all day... .691 freak, and it was pretty dry out, also, not one out of shape ball, or one dimple... flawless *****

It is not the same paint that their pro team uses although they claim it is. The fill is much thinner and the shell is slightly thicker according to others.

It almost sounds like this is the ultimate paint out there right now. Encouraging. Can't wait to try it out.

What's the cheapest that you've found Evil? And where?

One guy told me he paid $45 at his local PB shop. That's a deal! The cheapest I could find was $59.

I shot evil this weekend at an nepl event. no breaks all day but it was real bouncy. i took a bounce of the lens, gun and loader(yeah i suck). knowing i took this many makes me wonder how many my opponents took. other than that, shot great. very round, very consistent.

Evil was one of the options at a tourney I reffed this weekend, and it was from the same batch that they made for Aftershock for AC. There was not a single complaint all weekend. It was the orange shell with orange fill. I have heard small little trickling rumors that apparently the pink one is having some problems, something about the paint seperating, but since I have not seen it, I can neither confirm nor deny this issue. All I know is that my JT hat is stained with that orange now from all the spray I got while reffing...

the pro paint is Ultra evil which is a white shell with the "e" logo and very thick staining pink fill.
the fill in the regular evil is the same as the fill in pmi advantage.

I've shot evil @ Badlandz numerous times and I just wasn't that impressed. Unless its the ulta evil; I wouldn't even bother.

the stuff we had at this past tourney (run by PMI) had the 'e' but like I said it was orange....like I said I've got some of it on a hat still...don't know how the clothes came out tho...so I'm guessing that they're changing colors on it now...now I realize that sometimes people say things just to get you to buy into the hype, but apparently this is the stuff that Shock used in AC...truth or hype??? don't know...all I know is that it shot great, and the mag owners hated it...Angels, and Timmi's both loved it tho....

Aftershock shot the orange evil at AC. Since they didnt make the cut all the extra that pmi made was sent down to a Pure Energy event in Texas. Evil is the best paint out there right now, hands down...

Yes Slim that would be the event I was refering to. I helped ref that event, and that paint shot beautifully...

I used the yellow Evil this weekend. It was OK. I thought it bounced too much. I nailed a guy 4 times and only 1 ball broke on him. This happened several times with different guys. I was shooting 290 fps.

What other paint do you guys like?

nitro duck shoots great but....... we used to stock it at my store(my bosses store) and duck would ups 50-75 cases with 3 cases per box. gaurenteed 3 broken bags every box(not case). nitro duck woould not ship freight cause it was just short of a skid. we asked how much on a skid, oredered that amount and again ups delivered, one bag broke per case. no more duck at my store. granted they would replace the broken bags, but wed get them ups,d and have to send more paaint back. vicious cycle........any way............ any draxxus

The stuff shoots straight, there is no doubt about that.
And it does not break in the gun, thats the problem, it does not break on target either. It tends to break after impact, so it will bounce off your target and burst in air.
The fill is not bright or thick enough for tournament play, but an excellent choice for weekend play.
The price is right, and like I said above, it shoots straight.

Same thing with the first batches of Severe. We used to call it tap-out paint, too many bounces in the early batches. Their new stuff is damn good though and priced well. The Cyclone is dang awesome.

Evil shoots extremely well however, if you play in a warm enviroment it will become rubbery. Since it's new a lot of guys use it at my field and I have used it as well. I tell ya, it may just be the pretty colors that stand out, but it sure seems like all the unbroken paint laying around has an "E" on it. I just can't get over likeing it though. I hear sometimes on introductory paint the shell is little tough so guys won't complain about it blowing up inside their tippmanns and give the paint a bad name. Hopefully the shell will improve.

Just a guess: RPS made JT Maxim for JT. JT no longer has RPS making their capsules. Does Evil hold a suspicious resemblance to JT Maxim? I think it does.

The orange is not as bright as Hellfire or Steel. I used yellow and it was better, but not for tournament, yellow is bad. It blends in with yellow jerseys. I buy it for $60 for practice paint which is not bad considering they sell RPS Premium at $55 a case.

i ran evil paint on my freak barrel .691 insert andit ran flawlessly. this paint is very round and nice!!!!!!

I thought that the yellow Evil bounced a lot more than some cheaper paint I was using; Big ball and Team Colors.

The Evil never broke in my barrel, even when I shot several pods of it through a tight fitting .686 boomstick. But the Evil shot more consistently out of my Freak with .689 insert.

Unless I can get a hold of some Tournament Evil, I'm sticking with cheaper paint that won't bounce. My Impact IR3 doesn't seem to be picky about what paint I use. I've NEVER broke any paint, even the cheap stuff.

I noticed last weekend when I bought 1 case of yellow and 1 case of orange which one shot better. The yellow by far is better on break, fill, and flight. The only problem with yellow is if you hit someone with a yellow jersey you wont find the hit. Good practice paint and I would use it in tournaments, but Hellfire is my baby for that.

32* Team Colors is the same as the Severe paint I was mentioning before. I think it's made in Columbia.

Although the orange fill Evil is insanely bright, it is still too thin. Both orange and yellow soak right in to jerseys. Its like PMI took their fill from their Premium line, made it extra bright, gave it a new name and proceeded to charge an extra 10 bucks.

I'll keep my extra 10 bones, put it towards air & shoot Premium for rec ballin.

..Hellfire for an upcoming BYOP tourney

How's Hellfire compare to Evil? I have yet to try Hellfire because of the high price tag. But I'm thinking, "If it costs that much it has to be good". Which is not always true though. Paintballgear.com has it for like $75. I think I could swallow that, if the paint is worth it.

Give some info on Hellfire and what size barrel it likes.

Hellfire, like other Draxxus paint generally sizes to .687 although it does go smaller than that on occasion. Its very brittle, almost never bounces and has a bright orange fill that is almost paste-like and virtually unwipable.

I've got a Freak, so the size doesn't matter. Is the shell too brittle to use in an Angel?

It breaks kinda wierd, but flies pretty straight. I threw one at a pickup this weekend, it hit, boucned, and broke bouncing away from the truck, kinda wierd. I think they should ditch the "E" though, just focus on the best ball they can.

I've tried Evil. In that last post I was asking about Hellfire.
