I bought an 04 angel speed used a couple months ago and havent really been able to play with it since. i took it to impact paintball, and had them look it over and they said it was fine and jus put some new detents in it and adjusted the volumizers.
when i play with it even with sensi on i chop mad paint, its usually ok with single shots but as soon as i start to walk that trigger it poops paint all over the place. i dont know angels that well and dont really know whats caushing this. can i get some help/ suggestions
my setup
angel speed
dual twisted volumizers
check it clamping lowrise ( not gated )
iron cross detents
crossfire lp 45/45
halo b w/ shocktech cone
A4 soft faced bolt

what paint are you shooting? and whata pressure is your gun running at?

check your ram adjustment, ithe bolt pin should click against the hammer when you close the breech. also you could check your halo.

make sure your paints isnt old or brittle, a good way to tell is if you have any paint fragments on your halo drive cone. make sure your sensi is working.. check the sensi strip.

today i used my speed with my halo. i was breaking paint (not choping. breaking is paint broken in barrel, choping is bolt cutting balls in half) i found that the halo was breaking the paint with to much pressure. when i shot one ball at a time i was fine, but when i ripped i ran into problems. then i switched to my evo for a while with no problems. then i put my halo back on with different paint and again i had no problems. if u are shooting fast with a halo on your gun, u need to take carefull consideration into wut paint u use. as we all know halos put a lot of pressure on the paint.
to make sure your paint is good, drop it from waist hight, it should bounce at least twice, otherwise the halo may put to mush tension on the paint

How do i go about checking if my sensi is working properly?

do the drop test. hold the green button as you turn on the marker, and it should light up the six middle led's (yellow and orange, i believe). drop a ball in the feedneck and if it's working properly it should flash the outside led's (green and red) then go back to the middle ones. dump the ball out and try it several times...

and if i switch from my halo to a Y board egg will this eliminate the problem or jus cause another one, is a Z board needed to stop chopping

It works for some people. And no you don't need a Z-Board to stop chopping unless you can shoot 23 bps.

dude, your not chopping. there is no way u, or anyone else can out shoot a halo. your halo is breaking the paint with to much pressure. if u want to use the halo get better paint, or just use an egg

as welted said check the ram adjustment (the usual problem IMO) make sure the second ball in the stack isnt protruding in the breech so it will be cut by the bolt then,
as *I*A* said turn down the halo's sensitivty then,
try without the shocktech drivecone (i think Furby reported problems with early production shocktech drivecones)
definately try some quality paint (no dark shells (halo's can disagree with dark shells))

Angels suck w/ halos as far as I am concerned, I would recomend an EGG to you, and if it still continues, I would either turn the sensi off, or get the IQ converstion...

I had this same problem when i first put a Halo on my speed. Due to the Angel's design, when so much force from a Halo is feeding balls, the force pushes the first ball in the chamber back, making room for half of a second ball. When the bolt comes foward, it chops the balls, making soup for you. Don't stop using your Halo, just adjust your ram and bring the bolt closer to the breech. I made this adjustment to my speed last week and now it is ripping. I've gotten up to 18 bps with my speed and a halo.

did you move your ram up so much that you couldn't open the breech anymore?

shouldnt need to, with the halo on, and the gun/air off remove the barrel, look into the breech through where the barrel would be and make sure the next ball in the stack isnt going to be chopped by the bolt when you fire.

how much did you move it up? to the point where you couldn't open up the breech? please explain because im having the same problem
welted

you don't need to move it so far forward you can't open the breech. just far enough so when you close the breech you hear the bolt pin click against the back of the hammer groove.

Sorry.. this is Fade To Black. I lost the password for that name and the email thing did not work. Well, that person above me is right. Once you do this, your speed will rip like no other, and rarely chop paint if you calibrated your sensi. Just in case you don't know how to calibrate it, i'll let you know. Turn your marker on, make sure the sensi light is illuminated. Take 7-10 shots before playing. When you turn your marker off, it will reset, therefore the need for you to calibrate it again when you turn your marker on again.
