where to start..
someone at my field wants(or wanted) my 04 speed, he was going to trade me his ironman timmy for my speed and i give him a evo and 75 dollars, i figured i could sell the ironman for more on ebay..
the first week he ask i had my gun there, he wanted to shot it, we tried, with a hp tank, and the ram just moved half way up, so i figured something was wrong with the reg, so i did the hp mod to it, tried it again, and it got worse, so i looked at the lpr stack, it was wrong, i changed that so it would be 1up,1down,1up,1down, or whatever it said in the manuel(cant remember right now if it started with 1down,1up,1down,1up) but i put the minireg and the lpr spring stacks the way it said in the manuel,..then i decided to tank the ram out and take a look at it..looked fine, lubed it up and stuck it back it, but then when i got everything back on, i moved the ram and it shot back..its like the ram has a spring and it wont let it move forward..
week two(which is today), went out to the field thinking the gun was fine, air'd it up, nothing happened, the ram didnt even move, so i think that the minireg is crashed, or i put the ram back in wrong
thanks for any help or anything, need to trade the kid badly

did you do any work or change anything on it before it started doing this?
take the minireg off the gun, and turn the air on, see if it seems like its flowing slowly.
what are your settings? try screwing the minireg velocity screw all the way out so its flush with the outside of the minireg.
never heard it described like this, but is your sol plug in your hop port?

first question-no
settings are good, i changed them a bunch to see if that did anything, its all good
i did the velocity screw thing, thats what i thought was wrong with it too, cause it seemed like no air was flowing through the gun, so i figured it must have been the ram
and the sol plug is in the sol port...
is there anyway that i can fix the ram, so it will be smooth like my fly ram and not "snap" back?

do you have these ram problems when you run the gun with an LP tank?

try taking the ram out and grease it a little instead of lube (this wont fix your problem, but will reduce friction). is your bolt in and ur trap-door shut when the ram seems stuck?

ok, the ram problem is without air, like, the ram is still missed up with out the air flowing through the gun...so without air the ram snaps back..
but yes, the lp still doesnt fix it..i believe i just put it in wrong, but everytime i put it in it does the same thing

what do you mean snaps back? and why would anything move if there was no air attached?

without air in the gun, i open the breach, i take the bolt and move the ram, but the ram fells like there is air in the gun..so pretty much the ram snaps back into position
i moved the ram manuel, i didnt fire

Hmm... sounds almost like there is restricted airflow that pressurizes your ram to pull it back but the airflow doesn't change when the solenoid is supposed to actuate and therefore nothing happends. Just for kicks, to see if the solenoid is working correctly, take off the sight rail and press teh little orange button on top of the 'noid while the gun is on to see if it clicks. Next, if the solenoid does seem to be working you may want to try it with gas and see if the marker fires. Besides that, do you know what pressure your LPR is currently set at? Also, when you say teh ram feels more snappy, could you explain that better? (resistance, wherein the stroke, for how long, etc.) Sorry I couldn't help more right away, but if you answer these I may be able to come up with a possible solution.

i did that noid check..it all seems right, tried it with air and it worked good...
i fell like there was a o ring busted in the ram, but there wasnt...i put back in the ram and when i first started to put the ram back in it was normal, but when i reached a certain point it got that snappier felling again...
there is alot of resistance when i pull the ram forward, and when i let go, it snaps back where it started, but it doesnt go all the way back...it snaps back as soon as i release the ram
sorry if i am not clear enough, its very hard to explain unless u do it...

anyone with anything?

Kind of a random guess, but it doesn't seem like anything else is working... Possibly one of the holes that allows air to flow in and out of the ram is clogged. That snappy feeling you are describing could be a vaccum forming behind the piston as it moves forward. I'm not entirely sure how you would do this, but try cleaning out the input and output holes in the body of the ram when it is dissassembled. Maybe use a dental pick or a sewing needle. Be careful to not scratch the body though. If this isn't it, it's one of those things I'd probably have to play around with for myself in order to fix, if it is fixable. Hope it helps!

ok,
1. You put the ram back in wrong
2. You did something wrong to the lpr (reassembled wrong)
3. You may need to use a LP tank.
4. The gun needs lubing. Open the macroline and put 1 drop of love juice in there. Dry fire the marker 25 times. Fire the marker with paint 25 times.

im getting REAL curious about this!
do us all a favor and call an MT tomorrow. itll probably be alot quicker and youll know for sure whats going on, then please post the results here when you find out.
besides that all i can think of is pull it all apart and try blowing compressed air through all the internal air passages in the opposite direction of normal flow. ive heard that when teflon tape gets caught inside the internals it can cause havok and plug up the passages. any chance of this??

no, i always check and make sure that the teflon is not hanging over where it can tear off and fly in the gun,...havnt had a chance to clean the air passages yet, but ill get to..ive been goon all week,so thats why i havnt called the mt either..
ill post back soon

hahaha...man i fell stupid..
alright, i took my gun apart about 15 to 25 minutes ago...took the ram out and the noid..blow out the air passages..stuck the ram back in there, WALA! to my suprised i did not put it in wrong,BUT, then i put the noid in..and there it was, the sucking back thing, i took the noid out again, looked at it, and again WALA!, that little black rubber piece that sits under the black plastic peace was upside down(thus the sucking back happened)..flipped it around and shazam..
havnt tried it with air yet, but at least it didnt cost me anything besides my dignity

and now we know how to diagnose an inverted solenoid gasket (if im understanding that correctly).
glad to hear it wasnt anything expensive, or too time consuming.

Man... Glad you got it working. I probably wouldn't have thought of that unless I went through the whole thing piece by piece.
