Ok
I have after a few hours talking with Martin at evolve been able to fit and set my V2 evolve kit up on my 05 speed, here is a blow by blow account (ill try and sort out some pictures later)
1- The first thing to do was to set the input pressure from the inline (vert) 05 reg so that it was inputing at 300psi into the marker, This was done by fitting a blanking plug with a guage to the front left hand side (looking from the front), so i could read the input pressure, then adjusting the vert reg until it read 300psi. refit the the blanking plug.
2 - remove the Ram and replace the hammer with the delrin and metal faced evolve hammer. refit the ram assembly and set the ram.
3 - reshim the lpr so that it reads 100psi on the angel tool kit, then fit the lpr assembly (into the gun goes cone, spring, brass rod, lpr cap), fit the evolve guage to the lpr cap and set the pressure to around 40psi.
4 - degass, remove the front Left hand blanking plug, remove the plastic rod, spring and valve stem.
Grease the V2 evolve valve stem and the rear O-ring, fit into the marker to replace the removed components, fit the spring and adjuster screw into the newton valve cap, fit the cap to the marker.
5 - wind the adjuster screw into the newton cap until it stops (dont over tighten), re gas the gun, check the lpr is still at 40psi (you didnt take the guage off did you), Fire the marker,
6 - Now adjust the screw out in the Newton cap until the marker begins to fire, now check the velocity over the chrono, adjust the velocity on the Newton cap (NOT the vert reg) until you have the velocity you require.
7 - check the lpr it shouldnt have changed, place 2 balls in the feed neck and fire, there should be no blow back.
8 - Degass the marker, remove evolve guage and refit blanking screw into the lpr, lock down the lpr adjuster screw.
9 - fit hopper, let rip, smile like a fool , remove hopper fit finger into feed neck and smile as the bolt bounces off.
10 - use the Newton adjuster screw to set velocity from now on. After around 1000 shots you will need to recheck the lpr pressure as the spring beds in
11 - you will be able to drop you dwell as the kit wears in.
we had the marker cycling at 25psi on the lpr andfiring at 290fps, but was suffering from shoot down this we think is down to the recovery rate of either the lpr or the vert reg or a mixture of both.
As the kit wears in you should be able to drop the lpr pressure to around the 35psi mark (and maybe lower) and set the dwell to one of bottom.
I hope this makes some sense to people, i hope to re do it with picture later
cheers
