View Full Version : Eye Ribbon: Yes, I RTFM but I didn't find the answer
I want to take out my opto-board to try an experiment regarding the opto-switch's sensitivity to light. I can't find anywhere in the manual about a safe way to remove the ribbon cable from the board. The closest I saw to answering my question in the manual was "use a suitable tool" - I have no idea what tool that is??? Help me out guys, I need to get that ribbon cable for the eyes unplugged from the opto-board.

id say needle nose plyers and lightly tug it from the board. Taht is just my opinion, Ihave never done it.
That's what first popped in my mind, but I want to make sure.

That is what I did. I just pulled mine out very gingerly with my fingers and I have had no problems. Its scary as §§§§ though because that thing looks like it would rip easy as §§§§. :drink:
Yes, that is very comforting...

For the eyes I use my fingers for fear of damaging the ribbon. For the solenoid and the on/off switch I will use a tiny pair of needle nosed pliars.
