I know the refs are just trying to do their jobs but...
have any of you been pulled of of a field for shooting too fast. It happened with my 05 speed but not my dm4.

maybachgt

that has happened to me with my ramped DM5 but never a bouncing speed

maybachgt

quick question: some people say that "bounce" will accually push the trigger back like a response trigger. But I've always thought that it just thinks that the trigger is being pulled when it isn't

ZoomZoom

bounce can be done two ways mechanical or electronic

mech. is the trigger is litraly bouncing

electric is the board thinks its being pulled

nastylax8

dpends on the gun. On e-mags and other guns like that gas pushes the trigger back so you can basically tie a rubber band around the trigger and get it to continuosly fire. But on an angel it just makes the board think you are firing more shots that you are

ok thanks for clearing that up for me

it can be what you said, thats what the TR takes care of. however some mods, like removing the trigger washers, etc, can cause mechanical bounce

maybachgt
02-24-2005, 08:08 PM
I removed the trigger washers and the trigger has a lot of side play. Will they make a trigger that works without the washers and has no side play. Like something will ball bearings

ZoomZoom
02-24-2005, 08:14 PM
i took mine out and i have no side play at all

Do you think there can be a trigger with ball bearing for the 05 speed

nastylax8
02-25-2005, 12:03 AM
isnt the 05 speed trigger already a ball bearing? not sure. only took it apart once to get to the washers

maybachgt
02-25-2005, 12:06 AM
I will look at it more carefully but I dont think so

can you put a fly trigger frame on the speed like you can put the speed on the fly

ZoomZoom
02-25-2005, 04:28 AM
ya but why

ArKanGeL31
02-25-2005, 06:41 AM
Yeah, i took the washers out, made sure i had no bounce, electric or mech, and have been pulled out numerous times for shooting to fast, only to have the refs spend about a hopper of mine to find that its legal :notsure:

El Pirata
02-25-2005, 07:35 AM
Is that good or bad?

nastylax8
02-25-2005, 10:25 AM
bad and good.
good cuz he is legal
bad cuz the refs waste his paint

ArKanGeL31
02-25-2005, 02:09 PM
^^^ Yeaup

JR said thats why they put the washers in, cause a lot of players and refs were complaining that the guns were going "too fast". An attestment of how awesome angels are, you get pulled for a legal gun =P

The trigger already has ball bearings.

The ball bearings are pressed into the trigger itself. They use fully encased bearings like you use on radio controlled cars and such.

I don't need a manual to remind if I hold my hand over the end of the barrel and accidentally pull the trigger, again, it will hurt like a SOB. I don't need a manual to tell me that if I remove a volumizer or lpr without bleeding the system dry of air I will launch the lpr across the room, again. I also don't need a manual to remind me that if the batteries die to replace them. Manhy many things are pretty common sense though I do forget a few of them from time to time.

well,
I've read the manual at least twice but I couldn't tell you if it said the trigger had ball bearings or not. I haven't read it in a while.

Hopefully this forum will continue to provide a healthy atmosphere of teaching users (me) things I haven't learned from reading the manual or from taking the gun apart or even from the stickys that exist around here.

Zoom zoom and el, I'm with you. There is another forum that I go to (an electronics forum) and the difference between this forum and that is night and day. There, I read a few threads before I posted anything and what I saw again and again was the way the veterans flamed everyone who asked a question that in the history of man had ever been asked before. I mean it wasn't gentle nudging to do a search, it was obvious personal beratement (with a lot of swearing as well).

I can guarantee you that I searched carefully before I asked any question there. And it was frustrating because I was pretty sure I wasn't going to find the answers to my questions but the fear of public beratement is intimidating.

And frankly what you see on this other forum is that there aren't as many discussion topics and people rarely answer questions that are posted.

This, however, is a very valuable forum for the angel user and I hope to see it remain as one that I can rely on for good, helpful info. I'll offer this one analogy and then stop pontificating. If you went to the library and were told "don't ask us any questions until you've read all the books" that wouldn't be helpful. Certainly it would mean the librarians find themselves answering a lot of the same questions over and over again. But on the other hand, sometimes too much information ("read all the books before you ask") is actually more of a hindrence than help.

So anyway, who's playing paintball this weekend? I know I am.

ok. I've played there. Good field. Just a little bit farther drive than from where I am down to Elizabeth City. And I hate going from Hampton into Norfolk through the HRBT. Unpredictable traffic.

Does action town have any other fields?

El Pirata
02-27-2005, 08:08 AM
They had a field in Suffolk intil like 200 or 2001. At one point in time they had a field on Fort Story but that was mostly rec ballers and very sandy. I remember the owner of ATS wanted to promote field usage so he held a 3 man tourny on that field. While not being one of the worst tourny experiences I've had but it was by far not the best. As far as woods tournies goe it could have been way way worse. I remember the benefit of branches when someone is shooting at you. At one point in time I looked like I had literally been dunked in paint from all the splatter I had on me from a game.

ATS has been wanting another field in your neck of the woods but thus far they have not come up with any feasable options.
