In this day and age a drop is unfashionable. Personally I have used drops on all of my markers since 99 including my speed. I like the feel batter and it seems like you can stay tighter to the bunker with a drop. It's also easier for reloading while firing if you are using a drop as it sets the center of gravity back so you can easily single handed shoot.

OH yeah, if you are used to not using a drop then why switch if you are already used to using one without. Screw what your friends say and go with what feels more comfortable for you.

other than being able to stay tight in your bunker, and a better center or gravity, there isnt really any other major advantages...i like mine dropped far forward and down just a bit...that is why i got the dead on drop forward...7in forward, and 2in down...
will post a pic of it later on for you

yeah, its really not a gun specific thing, I've had one on all my guns except my 05 speed (and my phantom) and I have to say I like it better without one, just more comfortable and easier to aim without one, I have a macdev conquest so it doesnt sit very far back to begin with.

i used a drop forward in the past and i must say i like it better with out one IMO it puts your hopper to high in the air and makes a larger profile but like every one has stated its all preference what feels best to you is best for you

i agree, i recently switched to the rail from a massive drop (5 forward, 3 down)
i do have to point out one thing tho: last sunday out at the field i was having a discussion with someone about drop vs no drop. to make my point i pulled out my speed(no drop) and had him get his cocker(drop) so i could show him how much taller his was. amazingly they were the same height! of course tho if you compare that on the same marker, the drop would be taller. apparently the cocker has a lower profile.
i say go with what your used to

the great thing about bolt on parts is that you can try some thing and if you dont like it you can change it back.........so i say give it a shot with out (sinse you know what its like to use one) and if you dont like it you can change it back

Besides, what do drops run, $10 maybe 20. It's not like a huge investment to try one. Who knows maybe you might like it, maybe not but you will know. If you are too cheap to buy one then borrow one and see first how you like it before buying.

Yeah I had a HUGE 8 inch drop and I liked it until I felt a unimount. Like I got one the next day.

basically it all comes down to personal prefrance. some like drops some hate drops. try to borrow one for a day, then try going righ off the handle another day. just stick with what fits you the best.

I Love playing with a drop. I have a 68 ci Cfire and the helps me stay tight and it puts the weight in the center of my gun. So comfortable. Get a Check it Speedy

i don't like the drops bc my wrist achs after a few minutes so i use a unimount...plus i luke using the butt of the tank as extra support

my drop puts the tank just far enough forward so that the gun is balanced but back enough that i can use the butt of the tank as a stock
