Ok, like on one side of my bolt between 1/3 and 2/3 of the way it is scratched. WHY? It gets worse every time I swear, and I looked and I can't find any burs or anything.

Is it a scratch similar to where the air comes into the breech block? While not being able to see them too easily I know I have a few burs there on my bolts. I could remove the burs but thus far I have not had any problems aside from the telltale burs. I imagine the excess air needed resulting from the additional friction might be using maybe a few balls at most that you could have gotten out of your tank. Basically it's nothing to worry about.

If you are talking about just scratches on the sides then it's from normal wear and tear. You will never be rid of them. Lastly, the bolt cang et scratches on the very top of the bolt then it is from the bolt rubbing against the next ball in the stack and this too you will never be rid of either.

I've heard that oiling the bolt can contribute to this. Apparently the bolt swells when you oil it and rubs.
