I know there are a lot of you that you who have iR3s and want the extra modes unlocked but it is just not going to happen... ever. One reason is because of the deal WDP made with the ASTM. If they were to unlock the boards, WDP would be in deep §§§§ with the ASTM. Another reason is they have no insurance for the extra modes and they are liable for damages if they were unlocked.
Lastly, eventhough in theory the MTs do have the tech version of the palm software to unlock the boards, they can't unlock it without the correct passcodes to activate the software on the palm which in some cases can't even over-ride the iR3 board. All they can do is use the palm to communicate with the board which does nothing. So I'm sure if they could unlock them, they probably would.
If you really want more modes for you iR3, I say you buy a refurbished a4 board before they are all gone. I suggest someone stickies this for people that have questions about the modes.
