A4 Board ?

I have heard good and bad things about buying an a4 board for ir3's, and i might be able to do that soon, so i have a few questions. For one, will the board be able to run off of the ir3 battery ? Also, is the a4 board worth the 85 bucks ? Lastly, how much faster would i shoot with it ? (i have a z-boarded egg, so feed rate is really not a problem)

I just bought an a4 board for my iR3 yesterday from Bob at FixMyAngel.com and he said it will work fine with the iR3 battery and charger and nothing else needs to be bought or replaced. Infact when they do board swaps now for LCDs now, they will mill the trigger frame to fit an a4 board since the LCD boards aren't made anymore.

My A4 works great in my ir3. Its certainly faster, about 3-4 bps, but the counter on it is different. it counts the fastest two pulls, so i went from a recorded 14 to 24 because of that, but thats mostly smoke and mirrors. The only problem i ahve with my board is the battery indicator is waaaay off, if it drops even a bit on the screen, the battery needs a recharge. With that said the ir3 battery and charger are no problem and a charge will last an entire days worth of play at least. But if you seem to get shoot down the day after, its a good possibility is your battery dying on you.
