I am going to pick up a couple more valve springs and do some experimenting. I bought the evolve kit not too long ago and didnt have much luck, I still have the hammer in, and my settings are LPR-55, dwell-10 inline-??, so everything is stock except hammer.

heres what i want to do, but also wanna know if anyone has tried it:

Simply, I want to clip VERY small amounts off my valve return spring.
With the evolve kit, the light hammer, and little valve tension seems to be the motive behind everything. The low LPR's, little kick, ETC. but like alot of people, I cant get it to work.

So, has anyone clipped that spring to run possibly lower LPRs? I should be OK since I still have the light hammer assembly in. Im going to be safe and clip off tiny amounts at a time, but will also have an extra spring incase I over do it.

Edit, i also just realized something.

The base of the valve stem has to stick out of the body enough for the base of the volumizer to have tension on it. I hope that makes sense.
With out clipping the spring, its doesnt stick out too much, almost just enough to have tension, so I dont really have alot of room to do alot of "clipping", but Ill update when id do this.

We have been using a lighter hammer long before evolve came out with their kit. It takes a little fiddling with the valve spring, you can clip it and stretch it. I use Cobra valves on all our guns, but our hammers are not quite as light as evolves.

Thanks for the info.
Right now I am using the spring from the top end of a straight shot squeegy and it is working great, but my LPR is at 55psi, and if I take out ONE shim, it knocks me down to 35psi, which I'm not even going to try. Im going to aim for 45psi, but need to mess around with different shim combinations to get that.
