View Full Version : Very confused about changing pressures and volumizers. Help Me

Ok I've read the intructions and I'm still not clear on a 2 things

1. When I use a volumizer that modifies the high pressure so that I can run lower correct? Do I change the high pressure by turning the velocity screw or does the volumizer automically do that or how do I change the pressure? (I have a preset 450psi LP Crossfire tanks if that matters)

2. Is there any need to change the LP pressure from stock?

Thanks for the help

The volumizer will allow you to turn the velocity screw down but still shoot the same FPS.

Since LP=Higher flow you need a greater volume of air availible, and this is what a volumizer does.

When you drop the pressure going into the gun you have to recheck your LPR pressure as it will change. 60-65psi is where you want it.

You just throw the volumizer on and chrono
you dont need to check the lpr
it changes by itself

i have a question to add to that. does the setting of the lpr affects some of the paint breaks and how many shims should be in the lpr for it to be at 60 - 65

The LPR pressure changes, yes, but not to the correct pressure! You have to reset the pressure it is (or make sure its still within the correct range) when you change your operating pressure!

You can't tell what pressure it is by how many shims, you have to use the tool. Each LPR is different and may use a different amount of shims, and each shim itself is different.

About 5lbs per shim

5lbs for shime in not always at all true, at all. I have single shims affect the pressure in huge amounts, everybody and I repeat everybody needs a tool kit if they want to change the LPR on thier gun.

wtf...... If put a friggin volumizer on will i work fine without me changing the lpr by removing shims

I hope you guys no what the hell your talkin about

Yes you can put a volumizer on without changing the LPR.

If you want to make your gun run at a lower pressure then you have to adjust the LPR.

is there any way to check the lpr pressure w/o the tool? nobody here has that guage and i dont want to send in my gun and spend $40 just to get the freakin pressure checked. my gun was leakin in that little dip on the left side of the gun where the mini reg asa meets the body, and i called wdp and they said that if oiling the lpr piston doesnt fix it, im goin to have to send it in, pay $40 for a new lpr, and then pay $40 to get the settings right. i oiled it and its working...for now... but i dont know what pressure its running at.

also, i need a new tank and i want a either a crossfire 70/45 or a 72/45. which one is the stubby or the peanut system? i switch between back and front player, so i need a small but compact tank.

You need the gauge to check the pressure.

It's very usefull to have to toolkit as it works on any angel.
