I still think the G7 is the fifth gen.
V6/LED: 1st
LCD: 2nd
iR3: 3rd (hence the 3)
Speed 04: 4th-
A4: 4th (hence the 4)
A4 Fly: 4th+
Speed 05: 5th-
G7: 5th

LED 1
LCD 2
IR3 3
Angel 4 4
Angel Fly 5
Speed 05 6
G7 7
the G7 came from the fly, the speed came from the fly, the fly came from the 4. The 4 was revolutionary.

The V6 was the design in which they bought from Brass Eagle.
WDP sold them, then switched the internals over.
The LED and V6 are not the same marker, the internals are opposite.
Also, the new speed is just a new edition of the Speed. It is not a whole new marker which is why I said Speed only once.
It all depends on how you look at it...

The A4 and A4 Fly are pretty much the same marker for generation. The Fly is just a different verion of A4. Just like a C&C LCD is to a LCD, or a FLY LCD is to a LCD.

yea like other people have said i would replace the A4 fly with speed, in the correct order of course. because in all other moddles such as lcd and ir3 the fly was a more custom version of the gun

BE never designed/owned Angel. BE was just thier US distributer.

Angel Boi... if you go by your timeline, the G7 would be the 8th. You left out the Speed which came after the IR3 and before the A4. If you include the 05 speed in the generation timeline then you have to include the original.

G7 stands for Generation 7. tgaffner has the timeline right. A4 fly does not count, as it is just a variation of the A4. Speed 05 also does not count as it is just a new version of the speed. If you counted all those things then you would have to count all the dark angels, alien led's, etc, etc....
Therefore......
#1) V6
#2) LED
#3) LCD
#4) IR3
#5) Speed
#6) A4
#7) G7
Is the correct lineage. And the name G7 makes perfect sense.

well, usually the number stands for the year
as in Infra Red 2003,
Angel 2004... i mean if it was really gen's, it would be the ???5.
Dye Matrix 2004 or 2005
i dont know about 7..... i guess they couldnt use 5 because the A5 is already a tippmann?
its really up to WDP to decide what a generation of angels is. so i guess kick back and wait for an MT to clear up the acronym issue???

G7 = G G G G G G G which sounds almost like a stutter, which you'll be doing when you get lit up by one or when you actually get to shoot one.

You couldn't be more wrong.
WDP and John Rice designed did everything for the very first Angel. The original marketing and distribution was to be done by Brass Eagle her ein the US. BE had nothing to do with the design of the marker. The original V6 model had a left side opening breech as JR is left handed;). Internally there are zero differences to the marker.
