I have a brand new egg with the Z-board in it, ZERO problems. I hit 20 BPS in the chrony last weekend and went Sat, and a tourny on SUN without a hopper issue. If you get one that doesn't have screws holding the lid on (it should have some plastic grommets) it's supposed to be easier on the lid too.
Hope that helps

The first generation Evolution had problems with the raceway and that was fixed with the Evolution II.
If you want an eggo, try to pick up a 1st/2nd generation Evolution II. Even if it doesn't have a z-board, you can always purchase one. Much like the Revolution, the old shells are much more durable.
The brand new ones that come standard with the y-board are garbage, their shells are flimsy and prone to breaking at the screw joints.

The only problems I have with my eggs is that the battery doors are insanely hard to close leading you to have to basically force them on which eventually will crack your battery door or the shell... which leads to the electrical tape mod.
You can tell who has had thier egg for more then a month by whether or not it has electrical tape holding the battery door closed.
Otherwise it feeds consistently and works well on my fly.

If your having problems with closing the door and if you don't feel queasy taking it apart, you can open the shell and flatten the receptor down. The newer battery cover will compensate for this and you shouldn't have any other problems.

I think there is 3 generation actually. The first was the evlution, then the evlution2 and that had a y board. And then the newest and some stuff fixed like the battery door. Also, the y-board now feeds 19. Its the kind that comes in the box, not the pastic. It seems much better than the first egg 2. Oh and the battery door seems eaiser to close too. My friend just bought a gen 2 and it took us like 10 minutes to get the door on. Then new ones it takes about 5 seconds. Oh and it has the plastic instead of screws around the lid.

I used my new egg for the first time yesterday. Been using a halo b and had tons and tons of ball breaks.
With the egg, I shot a case of paint yesterday and probably had a half-dozen barrel breaks (no chops) and this doesn't sound good but it is at least an order of magnitude better than what I was getting with the halo b.
On one occasion during a game I unloaded my hopper on a guy and it ripped through the entire hopper without a single break.
yesterday was the most fun I've had using my speed 05. Before that, it's been shoot, clean the barrel, shoot, clean the barrel.

Seems to further prove what most of the guys around here claim.
Angels and their Halos dont play well together, in most cases.

eggs are not very durable, VL needs to fix the battery door breakage problem. everyone with an egg has tape wraped around thier egg to keep the batteries from falling out.. i had an egg for about 2 years then moved on to a halo.

I love my egg. I had to buy a complete shell battery door, and lid from buypb.com and its lasted me a year of league and tournies with no problem. just recently I was in radio shack and I saw these 9v connectors (you know the ones that physically connect to the batteries). So I took my evo apart and cut the wires to the receptors. Then I soldered 2 connectors in parallel to the wires to the evo. I used my dremel to make a make a hole to run the wires through. It works great. The batteries stay in nice with a lot less strain on the battery door.
The next thing I did is I removed some extra plastic from the battery housing and soldered another 9v connecter to the harness. I fit 3 batteries very nicely under the ramp. I don't know if it feeds faster because I haven't gotten all 3 of my batteries charged yet. And I like the reliablility of it.

I just bought a new stlye egg for a backup, the one in the box, and it looks like they finally fixed the problems. Everything on the shells is beefed up and much stronger feeling. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

hey guys I got my egg. I persoanlly don't like it that much. It would be awsome if the platstic was nice and strong but it is really weak. I like it ok. I am going to try to get a Halo B or empire Reloader B and if I don't have any problems I will probly buy one.
